I will spam some more info on my USAction Trax

Now I have 4 of them, since my set that has slight cracks are still fine, the cracks are not growing or turning into splits. I have used them many times since I noticed the problem.

I decided to upgrade them for traction on snow and ice, since that is where I have been using them. I took the idea of replacing the top studs with nuts and bolts, and did the bottom teeth that grip the ground. They no longer want to slide out from under the tires while gaining traction. It kinda makes them not stack as great since the nuts and bolts protrude a bit on the bottom more, but its worth it for me.

    None.... Yet
I read a lot from folks that say "If I'm going to spend $250 on ActionTrax I might as well spend another $50 and go with MaxTrax, I known entity." I too hold that sentiment though I really like the idea of going with a local company. I'm curious, what would the price be where folks would choose ActionTrax over MaxTrax?

So I managed to get my truck stuck in muddy snow last weekend and ended up tearing up my floormats getting out...am I right that the consensus is the Maxtrax are the way to go for snow/cold weather use?

Are the mounting hole dimensions the same between the Maxtrax and Action Trax? I have a Uptop bed rack and the mounts are specific to Maxtrax

Has anybody tried the rotopax boards? Look like a good deal minus the price for their mounts.

    Just some stuff...
So is it just a matter of having "something" and not necessarily a certain brand?

My take on them is that you can spend top dollar on MaxTraxx and get the ones that will last the longest and take the most abuse. That's worth it if you constantly find yourself in situations where they would come in handy.

On the flip side, you can save a decent amount of money and get some of the cheaper alternatives that might not last more than 1 or 2 uses. If it's likely a single use item for you, then save the money and get the cheap ones. But if you break more than 2 sets, you should have just gotten the good ones from the beginning.
