No, it still requires about the same amout of force to close. On the front pannel because you’re standing to the side of the truck you can still reach the pannel. If you run them on the back pannel you need to use the strap on underneath side of the pannel to close and if you have the tailgate down, it is difficult to reach that strap.

For people with the Front Runner rack mount, how useful do you find it? what do you typically use it for? Or do you find it gets in the way when attaching items to the top of the cover? I ordered an SE with a bin and trying to decide whether it would be useful to have.

Any update on this, I think it would be a good option for mounting rotopax or traction boards on the top of the diamond back if needed.

    Thanks,
Managed to find enough time to finish one part today. This will give an idea of how the rest will set up.

Definitely want to see it all up there. Just a thought, is it possible to make one slightly lower so that it sits at level with the cab?
I would want to do something like the UpTop system where they have their bed rack and cab rack line up with each other.

I can ask the fabricator, if there are enough request he might do it. Currently he only has 18 inch and 12 inch tall supports which is why I went with the 18 inch to fit my uses if I wanted to just run it as a headache-rack. I drove it around to test it out with no loss to visibility other than then some to the screen.

How hard is it to open the latch for the cover with the low bars on? How far above the cover do the low bars set?

The front panel is pretty easy as the bar sits over it but dosen't make contact. The rear can be a little difficult. Unless you have Small hands. The problem is the position of the cleats, might be able to fix with a tool or if I can reverse the position of the lock. so it faces toward the cab.

    Looking really good!
If you have the tall ones one, and no middle panel connecting the front and back halfs, can you open one or the other and do they hit?

you can open one panels at a time but it will hit at some point. I forgot to test and see how high it can go before I bolted the middle section. Was on a roll when installing lol. I will measure when the new gas struts come in.

@Delta139 I’d like to see just the low bars on one panned of the cover, with the top panels attached to them. So you can attach a rotopax or max trax on them, Think you could snap a few pics with this setup?

Sure thing, my new gas shocks came in so I will be taking some more photos and changing out the configurations. When I get some more time.

I was able to catch these finally and installed them...FrontRunner Triple Load Bars on my Diamondback. Install was actually pretty easy. I have a Diamondback SE and only needed to use the nut jacks once for each of the longer rails as screw positions of the rails overlap the Diamondbacks support tubing. Very secure. Silicone'd around each screw and not worried about water. They have a solid gasket as well.
