Yeah, I'll pull 2 leaves to start. Thanks for all the help.

Unfortunately probably won't get a chance to install it until around holiday break.

Haha right? My buddy just put 35’s on and was rubbing so he cut his bumper in prep for a steel one coming, plus cab mount relo etc. in the works. It’s a pretty nice build.

Had to sell my 17 Tacoma for a tow rig in order to pull my new home. Still here for a bit to keep in touch.
Hey everybody, New guy here. Oregon City local. Looking for input, advice, and group fun. I work all week so I can have some fun on the weekends.
Running a 2017 TRD sport. 3 inch lift, 285 70R17 -6 OS. And a list of little stuff a mile long including soft top, and Decked drawers.
You can spot me anywhere with the Mandolrian custom TRD decal on the bed. Friendly guy... Shout out!

Ok, first question. And a great debate. CB or GMRS? I currently carry a Motorola Talkabout, but need to step things up a bit and want something mounted in the truck. Looking at the Midland compact GMRS with all the buttons in the mic, or the Uniden Bearcat CB. Wondering what most of the other guys have in their trucks, it aint much use if the others are not running the same. So is CB a thing of the past yet?

i can only speak for myself... I’m using A midland handheld GMRS but I do know a few on this thread that are GMRS as well. Don’t know who, if any have CB but then again I haven’t met everyone yet.

    Handheld GMRS here too.

Interested in getting into HAM sometime, just have too many projects lined up first.

Quite a few things at this point..
I also use a handheld GMRS walkie talkie. It's what most seem to have and use. Most don't wanna deal with the install and more so, the learning curve for CB. I'm pretty lazy myself, and cheap so handheld it is hah

I have a CB hardwired in my cab but can probably count on 1 hand how many times I've used it. No one else I wheel with has one so I'm always using a cheap handheld midland GMRS radio.

Posting here since there are so many smart folks: What’s your guys thoughts on the sidewall strength of the Toyo AT3? I’ve ran BFGs for years with the 3ply core guard or whatever it is. Want to try something new, but not sure how much I’d give up by going with a 2ply sidewall like these open country AT3sor so many other ATs.... thx

Sounds like GMRS is the way to go. Time to do some study and learn all the ins and outs. Thanks everyone for the input.

I love my KO2s. Not sure I would change.

Yeah, there is really no reason to change other then being bored of the same tire. Which isn’t a good enough reason. Just keeping an open mind. I have been very happy with KOs and the KO2s are even better.
