Baja Designs - Universal Lighting License Plate Mounts !!!

My plate holder came from the dealer using a couple of lag bolts in the black plastic fascia on the bumper...do you think I could do the same for this mount? I'll definitely use more than two though.

 

It really varies by model and I can't give you a cofindenet answer without seeing your bumper. Many bumpers are pretty sturdy, some even have steel threads. Some, not as much. Personally if I were to use this kit on a softer bumper, I would use some sort of backing plate to sandwich the plastic bumper between the bracket and backing plate.

The guy that had the Lexus picture in your post actually just ran sheetmetal screws through the plastic. The lights were totally secure for the duration of him owning the car.

 

It’s a third gen sr5 with the black valance in the center. I may use a piece of unistrut behind the plastic

 

I mean in person and being able to tell how flimsy/robust the plastic in question is. I think one of the guys here may have one. I'll check in the morning once the crew gets back and maybe I can give you a more confident answer.
