It came out last year?? Is it releasing in the US or something?

It's an amazing war movie and a marvel of cinematography.

Ya, I saw it. Like Bishop said, cinematography was excellent. The first third was the best part, but I thought it fell flat about half way through to the end.

I have yet to find a modern day war movie that matches the upbeat, patriotic and exciting qualities of the movies made back in the 40s, 50s and 60s though. I watched They Were Expendable this weekend and thought it was excellent from start to finish. Never a dull moment and it put me in a good mood

WW1 wasnt sexy at all, very hard to make it cool.

Hacksaw Ridge and Dunkirk are my 2 other modern favorites.

I prefer the gritty side of war movies. Not always winning.

I didn't care for the particular story... and wtf didn't he just shoot that downed German pilot.:duh:
As said... cinematography was good, sound was good, acting decent... just didn't enjoy the story.

    Thanks folks. Appreciate your perspective.

Dunkirk made absolutely no sense to me. It was difficult for me to stay for the whole movie especially after my wife walked out:rofl: . She never done that before but she just couldn’t take it.

The German pilot flying around without gas for half the movie was ridiculous.

The original 1958 Dunkirk had a much better story, IMO. More engaging throughout. The new one is more artsy, downbeat, and dramatic, which I guess is what people like in war movies these days.

    I prefer the 1958 version.
