I was wondering how many folks have a second battery under the hood. I have a 2009 TRD Offroad so I placed a large motorcycle battery in an Apache plastic case on the passenger side under the hood. I have it wired through a battery isolater so that it can charge while running but not drain the main battery when the truck is off. It is directly wired to two lights and USB plugs in the bed for camping.

Post up if you have an alternate battery and how it's installed, or if you need advice on a similar setup. It's not hard to do and prevents draining the main battery if you camp in the bed often.

that thread is great. you can fit up to a 35 in the passenger areas. Several companies make battery trays for them. I am running 35 in each location. Had one 31M in the stock then swapped to 2 35's same amp hours but less weight in the front corner and isolated now. A motorcycle battery is not a bad idea but you can get a bigger one in there.

I used the biggest lithium motorcycle battery i could find. It wasn't cheap but fits in a small box and holds a charge forever.
