It can be a tax/ drywall combo. I can do everyone’s tax returns, we get drunk and do drywall work. It’s garage. It doesn’t have to be perfect.

Side note I am 100% with you on the lack of insulation. I got a buddy heater and a tank hook up kit. Literally doesn’t do anything to heat up the uninsulated shop.

I got a 60k BTU propane heater and I can keep it 50 in my 22x24 garage without insulation. After elk camp every year I'm comfortable to work in a hoodie and jeans when it's 50 so it hasn't been bad for hanging insulation and drywall. I figure with some insulation and drywall actually in place I'll be in good shape since I'll be able to keep the garage warm for automotive projects without dumping a propane tank every time.

Before I finish the last wall I'm putting in a sub panel and 2 more 220v outlets for air compressor and an electric heater.

I need to do the ceiling and header over the garage door and I'd need help for that if I don't buy a drywall hoist

Buddy heater is not enough. When I'm done you can borrow this forced induction propane heater and blow your mind

Was working in a garage last night using that same set up and it was totally comfortable even with the door open on one side. It was probably in the 30s outside.

Question for y'all using propane heaters - I'm still in the process of insulating my garage, and having it heated sounds pretty nice - are you keeping a door/window open for venting, or just letting carbon monoxide build up (and just not running it that long). I have all the walls insulated (fiberglass behind OSB walls), but still need to put in a ceiling (bouncing between drywall and OSB, with blown-in insulation over that).

Sororities can be WAY more intense. Just depends on which chapter.

    This and that...
The propane you burn in these heaters is clean burning like what you have on a stove top. You'll be fine but get a detector in there anyways. It's more about the propane burning up all the oxygen but they have a sensor for that and no worries in a garage.

EDIT: They also add water vapor to the air so in a camper you have to be careful with mold. Wouldn't worry in a garage though.

After I finish the insulation I was planning on adding a forced air heater. Likely 220v for now. Run it off a smart thermostat so I can warm it up without going out there. Keep it steady at 40-45° the rest of the time.

My dad used to run one for about thirty minutes and it would heat the garage for hours with the doors closed. It had a safety switch that cut it off it the air quality was too low....

If burning properly, they release water vapor and carbon dioxide which is less dangerous than carbon monoxide. The sensor is most likely an oxygen sensor, not a carbon monoxide detector. Thats why it's a good idea to have a separate carbon monoxide detector in case the burn malfunctions and in closed spaces to have some ventilation.

I put this little guy in my 3 car, works well and has a built in thermostat that I set to lowish if I'm going to be in the garage working for a few days in a row.

The price jumped a bunch from when I bought it 2 years ago.
