Starting to get a vibration through the truck while accelerating

Im starting to get a vibration through the truck under acceleration. I know this must be the driveshaft and im thinking u joint. I had replaced all three a while back but the center one would never take grease... im not sure why, but I think that might be the one that is wearing out prematurely. I have a long trip coming up soon so I might just have to bring it in- dont know if I have time to do it. Im going to put the OEM Spicer back on, just want to get any suggestions on anything I could be missing first.

Im pretty sure the part # on the u joint is

I think you are on the right track with a U-Joint problem.

 

I'm hoping its that center one that never took grease. I dont know what I did wrong because the other two are fine but this was seemed to wear out prematurely

There are so many reasons Tacomas develop vibrations from bearings to u-joints...

If you have a suspicion about what’s causing yours, have the means to address it without making it worse and can get it done by the time of your trip, go for it.

 

I'm gna do that one anyway. Just in case it doesn't end up being that- what other ideas do you guys have?

 

You could remove the rear driveshaft , select 4x4 and take it for a test drive to see if the vibration is gone with just the front driveshaft installed .

check play in the slip yoke and carrier bearing. Mine moves my dashboard on takeoff, going to a tom woods custom very soon, sick of playing the vibration games

 

Carrier bearing is what I was worried about. How do u check that properly- just look for play while mounted on the shaft?
