What are some of your current 2nd gen systems now without subs? I have a 2010 currently bone stock and plan on starting with an HU upgrade and then going speakers. I’d like a sub but the OemAudio box is the only one I’m really liking due to not needing to make any figment changes but it only works with their complete setup. I’ve read some of the old threads but what are guys going with now as far as front and rear speaker upgrades with a HU and maybe amp for those speakers?

I have a 2nd gen with a 2018 oem HU, JL Stealthbox with kicker mono amp, infinity Kappa components, with a kicker key amp. Sounds fantastic. OEM look on a "budget". ;)

Sounds like a nice little setup. I was always impressed with the Kappa speakers. Ran one of the Kappa amps years ago running some MB Quart components i had

If you want something that fits behind the passenger rear seat that makes no modifications to the truck try and find a Schosche TATAC05. They are no longer manufactured, but you might get lucky and find one for sale somewhere. They are plastic, but once filled with poly they sound pretty good. You can swap out the sub for something better like I did. There are also things like the Kicker Hideaway or the Stealthbox like spiral mentioned that people have installed under the seats or in the pocket where I have my amp.

The system in my 2014 DCSB currently consists of the stock HU, a set of Memphis Audio 15-SRX60C components up front, stock rear door speakers, Kicker Key 180.4, an older Rockford Fosgate P325.1 amp, an LC2i, and a Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1000F 10 inch shallow mount sub. For Christmas I received a Kenwood DDX9907XR HU and I am picking up some Kicker 46CSC654 speakers for the rear doors today.

I like that sub look and and setup. For me, the OEMAUDIO sub would be great as i could throw a small amp under the seat and still have one side of the rear storage available. Thats a nice looking sub-box, i may have to see if i can source one. Doing a quick search and nothing so far. This may take some time. Too bad no one makes or remakes the smaller OEMAUDIO version as well. I could see both of these boxes selling easily with the sub of your choice.

    Thanks

I wasnt able to find the Schoshe box but i did find a OEM JBL box from a user on here. It should be delivered early next week. My plan is to seal that box really well and add some sound deadener and then look at researching a better sub to add to it with an aftermarket amp. This will give me an OEM look as I bought the cover panel too. Its only an 8" sub but I'm no looking for ground shaking bass anymore but a complete sound.
