so exactly one week ago I replaced my tstat as my original was stuck open - I didnt notice for a couple of days because the heat still gave somewhat warm air. After changing the tstat, I noticed my truck idling heavy around 6 or 700rpm and other times idling around 1k with no vibrations. Driving on the highway last wed I felt what seemed like a misfire and the check engine light came on. When I got home I ran the diag tool and it came back with P0441 evap system incorrect purge flow. Then today my truck started sputtering on the highway bad and then the check engine light was flashing so I got off the highway and shut it down. Waiting for my tow now

any thoughts im going to get it connected to a reader soon truck needs a tune up bad neber had one 133k now. Coulf I have damaged rhe catylac convertor?

    thanks
    Mark

One thing may not have anything to do with the other. I’m guessing since you drove it that you had no cooling problems? Other guys with more experience will probably answer this for you but I personally have never encountered an EVAP problem when working on a cooling system.

Plugs on the V6 engine are scheduled to be changed every 30K. You are overdue. Change plugs and reset code with a code reader/scanner. Use Denso or NGK copper plugs.

Consider the following thread as well, but change the plugs.

You need to be stuck on the side of the road. No plugs in 133K miles. o_O
Do you not fill the gas tank until it runs dry?

There is a reason for a maintenance schedule.

Step one is admitting the problem.

Give it a good tune up. Then maintain it the way it should be.
