Fern area. Plus Campbell’s cemetery area and Steven’s rd . ( sort of) along with the mulberry river and Milton Ford
River was to high to cross safely
Campbell road has improved since the last time I ran up there in lifted and locked XJ. Still need L4 to climb thru the last section ( no pics - was too focused on getting out ). Always impressed with where my Tacoma will go. Always feels too big but never is
Beautiful part of the ozarks with plenty of black bears and decent trails
    Albeit very rocky
Added a couple Gaia snips for anyone interested in seeing some not so traveled areas

Woolum on the Buffalo last night beautiful clear night - cold ! Buddy heater made an appearance by feel of it we were upper 20s
Ground was frozen early this am but thawed quickly
We had the entire area to ourselves
One other guy with a TJ. And a dude on a horse in the wee hours pre dawn scared the shit out of me - sounded like a herd of elk crossing the river . More to come ...

Day 2 and 3 Woolum to Snowball back to the Nars and back to Woolum and onto the Gene Rush WMA - 2 river crossings - tons of beautiful scenery and several old turn of the century (20th) farm homes now part of the Gene Rush WMA
SO MANY trails to see you could spend weeks here and only scratch the surface
I have been fortunate enough to have. 5 day trip shared on GAIA that will take you from Woolum to Oark. I have only traveled the easy one day run. The next 4 sections are very remote and several difficult and tight sections.with lots more water crossings . if you have read this far and your interested In making a multi day trip PM me
Below are a few more teaser pics from the last couple days
If you love wildlife . Plenty of deer a chance to see Elk, bear and on this trip I was fortunate to see my third bobcat !

Could you let me know the trail you took? I was searching for a trail to do with the wife and kids and we tried this two years ago. We were in the wife’s pilot and got water logged because I didn’t think about the intake being at the bottom of the front clip. Needless to say, a tow truck to a hotel and an ace hardware visit later to blow out all the plugs. Our trip was cut short. We’ve always wanted to finish this trip and was told there are awesome waterfalls along the way. Any help would be great. Thanks

Are you going to be driving a Tacoma? Or the pilot ? The river crossings here run about 2.5 - 3ft deep depending on flow . Best thing to do is check the usgs water flow and then make a judgment call when you are there
If you go to woolum and cross the Buffalo there - you can follow the trail / road around to the Nars . Not far from the Ford. Hike up the Nars and you will get a beautiful overview of the valley. Keep going on this road and you’ll pass old abandoned farm building and homes and eventually come the another crossing. It’s longer but a little shallower than the woolum Ford . Exit this and you have two choices - left will take you along some beautiful roads - windy and steep in places - back to snowball - right . Well make sure you are prepared to overnight / self recover and get pin stripes . PM me and I can send you a link to GAIA . i highly recommend a second vehicle if you go right.
as far as waterfalls - car wash falls isn’t too far away . Plug it into your phone map ap- it’ll pop up . It’s ok - go when there is plenty of rain. You’ll have one river crossing to get there on Richland creek. It can flow fast so use common sense if crossing after heavy rains .
Hope this helps . It’s hard to explain in email. Just get on google maps and do sat view - you’ll be amazed what you can figure out this way
