I'm a 2nd gen, we've got less room between grill and radiator. There is plenty of room inside the bumper and I wouldn't need to open the hood to access the box.

And if it did work, I'm friends with the owners on Tandem so I could order direct.

I would be happy to post pics of my Taco with the Demello bumper that I ordered. Whenever it shows up. Now a month late thanks to covid I'm guessing.

Yes, it is our third Demello bumper, both our FJ's have them also. The quality of the welds, powdercoat and fabrication are top notch.20210827_103333.jpg

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I couldn’t agree more. I bought one for my Taco and FJC, bought them over a year ago and very stoked I went this route. The gussets look like something out of star wars! I will be ordering a Tundra bumper soon.
I also bought his hybrid sliders for my Taco and Runner, and they are stout!

Do you happen to have any more angles of your 3rd gen? I think I need a demello bumper with the light bar cutout!

That looks so good. Is that stock pro height or did you do anything to beefen up the front suspension?

I did, I think it’s the way to go. Don’t want a bunch of weight out front.

What is the typical loss in highway MPG with the DO aluminum bumper?

The AL one probably won’t do anything to your mpg, it’s a lot lighter than the steel.
I got the steel with a warn winch and I didn’t really notice an mpg change, just the front being a little more weighty.

I have that one but went with the low baja hoop. I’m pretty sure that the full hoop looks the same as that second gen pic above.

I looked for a long time before deciding on this bumper. It’s a nice compact design that doesn’t stick out far and looks clean. Like the ARB on the Tacoma’s looked like it was from an f150, a kid waiting a fake mustache!

One thing I don’t like is I can not remove the grill now, it partially removes with the lower clips still engaged.
If you look at the pic above the full hoop might block it from removal too.
Also I noticed some mild surface rust forming inside the structure, it’s 4 months old.....poor powder coating/prep?

The change in aerodynamics looks like it could lower the MPG on the highway.

Sounds like you should break out the slide rule and book some time at a local wind tunnel and report back.
