That's what the tag sewn inside said. I thought it was a joke. With so many Americans out of work, could they not find someone in the USA to make them?

Not at a price that your $25 membership fee covers and leave money to do anything else with.

the only good thing about that membership was the included armscare insurance. That's gone.

So now the only thing left is calls asking for money. Nah

With so many military items being made and imported directly from China these days, why are you surprised?

This country makes nothing worth of value anymore. Rare that you see something actually made here, but when you do, it's actually made well and is of quality. It's a shame that our nation which once prided themselves on making quality goods now outsources to the cheaper end of the world for their goods. It's why we aren't worth a damn anymore. At least on a trade and economic scale.

This is just my general observation of the economic times. I'm not preaching gospel here and I'm not here to get into politics.

Regardless of how I feel about, or whether or not I agree/disagree with, the opinions expressed here...

If I were to say any of these things openly as has been by others, I'd have been awarded a vacation away from this place.

Doesn’t it really boil down to whether consumers are willing to pay more for products made here? Seems to me that I see a lot of folks at my gun club that are pro America and are quick to say it to you too but are also quick to pull stuff out of their bags that are made in China and other countries. Until consumers start putting their money where their mouths are there’s no reason for companies to make shit at a higher price and a lower profit. Lots of big talk out there.

In order to join our club we had to become members of the NRA. I’m not a fan of ANY organization that pays their execs what the NRA was while doing so little for the actual members. I for one have no problem watching the NRA fold and allowing an actual gun rights group take its place.

I have the same backpack I got on ebay for $3.85 years ago. They probably got each pack for less than a buck and pocketed the rest of your "dues."

Absolutely correct and I could not agree more.

Lots of things were made in the good ol' US of A and quickly left these glorious shores for a bigger profit margin. I do think many would have stayed had their profits not tanked so the issue lies within our own borders. Be it logistics, raw materials, product base, labor, taxes, etc., the almighty dollar fueled it in the end.

First paragraph..you're not wrong there in some cases either. Depending on the particular example, sometimes it's the chicken and others it's the egg. I'm willing to pay more for a product here if it's reliable etc. I drove GM for over 20 years, I stopped doing so because they lied/cheated/stole from me on a "warranty"job that was under both the general powertrain and the "secret" warranty on the particular vehicle. I'll explain more if you wish. I went to a Toyota from there. GM also thanked the taxpayers for the bailout by sending more jobs out of the USA as well.

Can't speak to the second as I am not a member of the NRA, nor am I able to become licensed for a firearm sadly. But in my part time profession I see an organization that seems to do what you're describing, takes and gives little back plus from what I heard may have been violating their nonprofit status

NRA is basically a controlled opposition scam at this point.

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
They give away the tackiest junk.

I'm not currently a member, but I have been in the past. I laugh at the Chinese garbage - mini duffle bags, pocket knives, etc. Never used any of it. Never trusted any of it to work had I needed it to.

A sticker would have been sufficient.

When I was in college I worked for a supplier that had contracts for the US military for all kinds of items. One of them was leather gloves which they got from china and we had to cut off the tag on the inside before we sent them out.

I wish NRA would just keep their cheesy shit. I got my Life membership about 10 years ago hoping they'd leave me alone with all the begging for money and offering cheap crap as an inducement. But no, they keep offering it while wanting me to "upgrade" my membership. even the magazines aren't very good any more, just advertising for the firearms industry. Each and every gun review they do is nothing more than a lightly veiled attempt to sell you on the "latest and greatest" new caliber or handgun the factory has come out with. None of them are any better than a good 1970's revolver or a 1911.

I think the part I bolded contradicts your initial statement. We only make things of value and lasting quality here, if you consider “value” to include how long the things you buy last. But what sells is the cheap throwaway items from overseas.

Why sell on $75 backpack every 10 years that you made $20 on when you can sell 3 $25 dollar backpacks you made $20 each on over the same 10 years by moving the labor overseas? $20 profit vs $60 profit. The consumer sees the price differential but almost never takes in to account quality and lifespan of the item, and the company considers profit first.

IMO the backpack is still worth more than an NRA membership…
