@White lightning boosted Do you have a code reader that can read "pending codes" versus "triggered codes". I would see if there a fault code that is waiting to rear it's head.

If no pending/triggered codes, I would try some of the preliminary stuff first. The fact that you said you got gas this AM, etc.... Check the gas cap and see if its not sealing correctly. Twist it off and put it back on. Pull the neg terminal of the battery and reset. I made the mistake of driving with my gas cap uncapped once... truck drove fine and I secured the gas cap. But soon after, it started doing something similar to what you described. Eg. lack of power, sluggish, etc...and popped a code eventually. I cleared everything and didn't have the problem again.

good luck Jesse and happy new years fellas!

That's been in my head too since my procrastination and the lack of RIPP coils is preventing me from wanting to install the cam gears, Rutheniums, NST pulley, etc.

I think it took them 2-3 months from when they announced the official release of the 2ndGen Tacoma RIPP coils to when end users were able to order them (around black Friday).

My guess is that it shouldn't take more than 2-3 months for them to release the redesign. We are almost 1 month into the RIPP re-do. My hope is that they'll be re-released in Feb/Mar 2021. Obviously, this is all unofficial..

I can confirm that I got a refund. rippmods@rippmods.com was the contact that got everything squared away. sales@rippmods.com was a black hole.

Yes, call Eric.....he refunded me right away. I actually asked him to just keep my money and square me away with the new set when they are out. He said he couldn’t but would grant us a deal when they come out

I hope so....that’s about when I’d plan to put them in along with plugs and cam gears, and back to a 2.8. Oh and my URD tcai.

Yah they were nice about it but realized I never got any money back. I would have done the same. Mainly waiting for the new ones.

Removing the rear head studs, along with the un-coupling of the steering shaft, I don't see why the gussets would have anything to do with being in the way.

ive heard the gussets could possibly hit the headers but seems like most that have installed both havent had any issues?

@12TRDTacoma I want to say getting rid of that fan clutch has given some extra ponies. I went to my usual spot on my way home tonight and let her eat. And it was definitely one of the fastest launches I have ever done in the truck. Boost weather is finally upon us!

Yeah I wanna say it felt like when I went from the 3.0 to the 2.85. Just the way the tires felt when I went into 2nd gear ive never felt that before

I actually agree with that. When I switched to e-fan it was noticeable. Maybe not the equivalent of going from stock to 2.85, but I’d say half that or so.

I’m actually highly considering going from 2.7 up to a 2.8 when I do all that stuff I’m gonna be doing here in the near future.
