I keep this handy just to refer back to.

 

This one at the NC/SC border. I've run into it from both sides, but never through it. Hitting it from the SC side is a PITA cause you can't turn around, have to back out on the edge of a long drop.

I think that gate was open the time we ran through.

 

That’s a Red gate though. Those are never open. Closed to public access and vehicles at all times

 

Yep, but as @CowboyTaco mentioned, there was a period when it might have been open -- if it's the same gate. It was during the landslide a while back, I think so hunters could still get into the game lands.

Meh, I was thinking of taking the jeep up because I havn't worked thru 4hi/4low/lockers, etc much this year.

There was some chatter on SCJA that the red gate at the border was actually open.

 

Well that’s cool. How long will that last? I probably won’t be available until the 30th.

I still have seen no confirmation that it's actually open.

 

I’m currently working in Chicago and am only home about 52 hours on weekends. Can’t really afford to spare the time. This will end by last weekend of the month. I’d like to get out but nothing too serious. Not wanting to break crap.

 

I'd like to do a Musterground / Chestnut Mountain trip mid-November if anyone is down.

Wish I could. I've been totally slacking on my conversion, I need to atleast get in the garage and start on it, been parked for weeks.
