Hey all, new member here, 2020 TRD OR and my first Toyota, love it so far, got the extended warranty (pricey but figured it was worth the worry free 7 years)
So I recently got new winter steel wheels and tires, the wheels are from Canadian Tire (mistake I know). The problem is when I mount them to the hub the wheel nuts don’t go all the way on, I can get them half way on and about 5 turns..
I’ve seen the wheel lug thread and looked into the extended thread nuts from gorilla but the lug holes in my wheels measure too small for the nuts to fit, I may be looking at new wheels :frusty:
I told the guys at Canadian tire and they say bring it in for them to look at but I already know they won’t fit without new studs or wheels, I asked why they sold me wheels that don’t fit safely and they didn’t have an answer.
    Anyone else have issues?

Is it fitting all the way over the hub? I believe the center bore is 106.1.

Yes it fits all the way on, no issues with the hub diameter

Hmmmm...I would think that they are the wrong wheels...strange tho..they seem to be hub centric.

Take the wheel off and post a picture of the lug holes with good lighting.
Does the lugnut sit properly in the lug hole taper when the wheel is off?
Where did you buy the lugnuts? Are they 60-deg conical seat?
Take off your spare tire. Does the lugnut sit properly in the OEM Toyota spare wheel's lug hole taper?

FYI in our climate, it's better to get closed-end lugnuts to reduce wheel stud corrosion. CT has them under Paulin P/N 559-141. That is, if your CT steel wheel has the same common 60-deg taper as the OEM Toyota spare.

I agree, now that I look at the pic a little closer. Wrong lug nuts.
Compare them to the OEM ones, I bet they are different.

Just an update for anyone in the future.. Got replacement 5 spoke SR5 steel rims, wheel nuts go on deeper and much better fit.

You should probably test fit your spare to make sure the lugnuts will seat properly on it. Don't want to be stranded somewhere with an ill-fitting spare.
