Either use trailer or place kayak(s) on the racks on top like my racks shown in picture:

    prinsuracks.jpg

I haven't seen that before.. Looks great.

I like that foldable trailer. I will probably get one someday. I put light kayaks up on the racks. The heavy kayaks go in the bed and strap them in.

That's how I use mine like that.

Yup I have bed stiffeners. I tie kayaks in the bed with them. If I am at the lake which a few feet away, I can tie kayak to bed stiffeners so the kayak won't float away.

HA! I haven't seen anyone who has matched color on kayak and truck before.

Im Handicapped, so lifting them higher than my waist is not a option for me, and no space for a trailer at the places I got kayaking. Thats why I look at the assist lifting racks.

I understand.. I saw the post above about slide the kayak down/up from/to the rack. I like that.

Foldable trailer could help you out. I know the kayaks are heavy. I have kayaks that were made in middle of 2000's, they are thick and heavy. The new ones can be light and thin depends on the design. The kayaks with white bottom half, those are very light which is big help for anyone who can't lift heavy.

My recent kayak was Old Town Trip 10, it was not bad to carry. I sold it about 3 years ago. I plan to get a new one in spring. I keep my old ones from 2000's.

i did the same thing. Easy to load/unload and move around the garage. Made it an inch above the tailgate so it just slides off and on easily.

That is cool. I have been thinking about raising kayaks up to the ceiling with ropes and tie on hooks in the garage. If I drive my truck in, I can lower kayak onto the rack or bed. Right now they are sitting on the kayak stand. I would like to get rid of the stand to make room.

I use 2 of these to lift my kayaks in my garage. They are made for bikes, but you can put the hooks into the handles on the kayak and it lifts it very nice. They also sell a kayak version, its the same as the bike one, but comes with 2 extra straps you put under the kayak to hand it from.

Thank you. I save the link for future purchase. I have seen people made their own DIY version of that.

My only suggestion with it is to toss the rope it comes with in the trash can and use a better one. The rope it comes with has no real shape to it, so it falls out of the pulleys very easy. Get a nice rope that has a core and it will stay in the pulley. (there is space on either side of the pulley, the rope will fall off the center of the pulley and then into the space between the pulley and the sides)

I considered that as well but we have a real low ceiling and that boat was huge so the cart worked out better. Would love to be able to hoist them up though.

You can set it higher or lower based off what chain you hook to etc.

I went with the Rola 59799 rack and added the ROLA 59795 tie downs. The racks require you to elongate the mounting holes (on the rack feet) about 1/4" to meet the bed rails, which was very easy. They're every bit as solid as Yakima, lighter (about 30lbs), have an 800lb load capacity (per ROLA) and are fraction of the cost. Ok - I just realized I sound like a paid actor on one of those informercials. I'm not - promise.

we carry a Mad River Adventure 16 (close to 90lbs) and a smaller, Walmart kayak (about 60lbs) on there both on and off-road with ZERO issues. Pics & Links:

Could you take a couple of closeup photos of the feet, and how they bolt to the rails?

This is exactly what I have, I would have no issue loading 4 across or a couple 95lb 12ft kayaks on top (other than the weight and getting them up there would be less than fun).
