Just installed JBA’s for my brother a few weeks ago and he loves them. Pretty great for the price

Not that you said you were gonna order them but it sounded like it. Did you end up ordering a set? Just curious as I’m looking into these and JBAs. Was looking into “true” SPCs from another place as well but if these are the latest and greatest for cheaper I might give it a shot too.

I haven't, I watched the video again to be sure I didn't miss something, by the sounds of that and posts all over TW, it's hit or miss, some people got the newer style, others recieved the tubular design, which nobody wants

Looks like I was the first sucker to bite. Yes, but the years they listed for those part numbers is weird since Mevotech stops at 2018, but SPC is like 05+. Thought I would be ok if it's real SPC hardware.

The 196 part I got was all labeled SPC on everything, forged arm, ball joint with boot and grease zerk, sealed bushing. Jackpot

Then came the 197... well that was something else. Tube arm welded on the side the ball joint, rubber bushings, no markings, but does seem to be new SPC ball however. I noticed this has a gold tint to all the ball joint hardware, not sure if this is newer? I guess I have to return and play the lottery again :(

I see... That does make things more of a pain. Do you have to pay return shipping? Or will they cover it?
Take chances with this, order JBA or see if there is any really good deals on “true” SPC. Thank for the update and keep us posted about what you end up doing.

Anyone know if the SPC’s have wheel restrictions like the JBA’s do? I don’t see anything, but I’m pretty uneducated on the subject.

Yeah I wanted to simply get JBA and be done but they specifically list 255/85R16 on stock rims as not compatible, which I wanted the option. Best I can find searching around the forums.. seems like SPC will be ok but I am not completely certain. SPC doesn't provide as much details in general.

good luck with what you decide on. After a lot of thought I’m gonna just buy the current SPC. I was more interested in JBA but my coils are green and painting them seems like more of a hassle. Taking the chance with the Mevotech seems like a hassle too.
If your going SPC, check out this thread and see what price you can get- https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/feeler-light-racing-uca-group-buy.443439/

Update - sent back the CMS861197 to rock auto for the $7 return shipping and got a refund. Actually fairly simple.

Placed an order for the same thing and waited. Shows up today and... Yes! SPC everything in the latest version hardware. I am still puzzled why Mevotech (and thus Rock Auto) lists these as only 2005-2018 Tacoma. SPC seems clear their UCA is 2005 and up.

Came out about even with the cost of just ordering the JBA UCA. So if all you want is extra caster and are not interested in possible rub on 255/85R16, the JBA would be the easiest option.

If you really want SPC then this guinea pig confirms you can get them for a substantial discount.

I was in too deep.. everywhere else sells them in pairs. So I guess the Mevotech is a good side note for anyone that needs to replace just one side for some reason.

Just noticed the instruction sheet included has the SPC headers and footer removed, but same info as SPC website. The sheet even has the same form #(25470GEN), revision date and ecn# in the bottom corner as current SPC website instructions download.
