The bike forum I’m on has a handful of guys that have had success running a hitch carrier on their Jeep Cherokees, Tundras, etc. I’m about to upgrade my suspension all around with OME, and DAKAR AALs. I’m not worried about sag, altered turning radius, etc. I’m just worried about the whole hitch snapping off. What do you think?

As long as you're under your max tongue weight I wouldn't worry about it.

this would put me quite a bit over. But what is tongue weight? Just a threshold that affects your steering? Or actually have something snap off? I know these things are engineered far within spec

I talked to my marine buddy yesterday, and he said that my trucks 350 pound capacity is for bumper only. The fact that I installed an aftermarket class 3/4 hitch gives me a capacity of 1000 pounds on the hitch.

^^Above is considered proper use of a sport bike.

    This is not.

I use a ready ramp and a regular ramp. One for the bike to go up and one for me. The ready ramp folds into a bed extender.

Hell yeah, is that a 55 or 60 profile?

For a ducati guy, were you on the way to starbucks or meeting friends later?? I keed..

I wouldn't go anywhere close to 1000 pounds, thats like 3/4-1 ton truck tongue weight. Tacoma would be all over the road prior to something inevitably failing.
