That gave me all of the information I needed to get started. They are one of the better "home roasting" websites, and sell everything you need. They also sell green beans, as well as coffee brewers that have the Specialty Coffee Association seal of approval. To get the best tasting cup of coffee, you need a brewer that heats the water around 190-200F. Most cheap brewers don't brew that hot.

    https://sca.coffee/certified-home-brewer

I bought a Bonavita when the only ones certified were those, and the expensive Technivorm brewers. Glad to see a lot more options today.

I will most likely ending buying stuff from them!

My home setup is a bonavita kettle and kalita wave or Chemex depending on my mood. Next step is a better grinder. I have a decent burr grinder but I want a better one

I normally use my Bonavita coffee maker, but I like the coffee I get from the Chemex the best. That just takes a little extra work as compared to the drip coffee maker. I also bought a Bonavita "goose neck" kettle for my pour-over devices. I use a hand (burr) grinder for better tasting coffee. It's not really better, but I feel having to work for my coffee enriches the flavor...lol

Sweet Maria's has decent prices on their merchandise.

    Hmmmm....... The best coffee.

Is made by someone else to be served with bacon, eggs, pancakes and hash browns while sitting gazing into the campfire.

Another vote for the inverted aeropress method! This has been our go to method for the last two summers. Easier to deal with grounds than french press.

Jetboils are so easy, and fast! I bought mine in 2020, and it worked great! I use a GSI Coffee Rocket on backpacking trips.

Grind the beans at home, boil water with a JetBoil, then the inverted Aeropress method!

If i'm drinking instant coffee, then it's Community coffee and chicory. Might as well have some flavor if I drink instant.

I usually hit my local grocery store and use the store grinder on some fresh beans. The only way to have camp coffee is on the Coleman stove or over the fire in the camp percolator.

I've used a French press, several percolators, pour over, steep methods, cowboy coffee, and probably a few others and by far the best is a pour over like this

    https://www.rei.com/product/187455/soto-helix-coffee-maker

Super easy and with a filter the grounds are a non-issue. Almost zero clean up and great coffee. This one makes about 16 oz max with a #4 filter. I tried filling a 20 oz mug and while it worked, the filter was pretty full and I had to go slow with the water as there wasn't a lot of room. The Snow Peak is okay too and bit larger but seems a bit less stable.

Trying to perfect the percolator. Only two of us and we rarely drink more than a cup per day... Tips on ratio and grind?

    I usually fill it 1/4- 1/2 way
    (depends on what size percolator)

I just keep a eye on the color by watching as it hits the topCD71E20D-2CA7-4E37-A0C3-AC906708451D.jpg
