Looking at pricing on a TRD Sport dbl cab 4x4 and it looks like I can save a substantial amount of $$ if I'm willing to travel to a high volume dealer 133 miles away. I have a Wrangler that use with a tow bar set up that I pull behind my motorhome. I know new car break ins are not like they used to be but looking for opinions on buying the new tacoma then towing the Jeep home behind it right off the Toyota lot. Yes / No? I'm sure there is guidance in the owners manual about the first 1000 or so miles. Don't want to cause any harm to the tacoma.

Welcome to TW. You are correct, you shouldn't tow for the first 500 miles.

I would, especially if the Wrangler is a TJ.

Can't you just take someone with you to drive the Jeep back?

It took me a year and 2 months to pull the trigger but i put my order in today for a 2022 TRD Off Rd 4x4 LB in lunar rock. Told me 4 to 6 months til delivery. Found a dealer not too far from me (4hours) that is selling them for msrp. Here on Long Island they are asking $3k-$5k over sticker. Hopefully closer to the 4 month time frame but it'll be worth the wait to get it the way I want it.
