That's exactly what plan B is if I can't get the ball joint tool working. Its quicjly making it's way to plan A though since it looks to be a simpler option.

Thank you for the offer! But, it won't work. Turns out there is a sleeve that needs to be removed in order for the bushings to be inserted. Mine are so rusted you couldn't tell these were two pieces. I'm going to try and get them out, but worst comes to worst, I'll get new ones delivered tomorrow.

That's a whole lotta NOPE in there, ha ha! I beat on that damn thing for almost two hours with every one of those tools and a blow torch and wire bush. Didnt budge. New ones delivered today. I figure if I have to beat on it that bad they I'm probably going to bend or overheat it to the point that it's no longer serviceable anyhow. Better safe than sorry.

If anyone is looking to replace their leaf springs and shackle, remember that you'll need to order it at least a couple days in advance. NO ONE has them in stock, but almost all of them can "...have it here tomorrow morning."

Zip off the "ears" or "lip" on one side. Cut down the length of it on the inside, hammer that bitch out. All you gotta do is defeat one side or the other.

Here's how mine went; burnt the rubber and bolt sleeve, watch the environment die a little and drink beer, because duh, not gonna try and force the inner out (mine were seized). Lopped off one lip of the outer sleeve with a grinder. Hacksaw the inside of the outer sleeve end to end. Hammer and flathead or chisel to drive it out. Drink more beer.

    One down, three to go!

Here's one of the reasons I found not to go with blocks over a leaf pack. I've had this block lift kit on for about 40k miles. Overall it was cheap and worked well. I had it installed at a Toyota dealership and I dont go offroad nearly as much as I want. I just got the lift to level the truck and get around my buddy's farm for hunting season.

On the u-bolts you can see where there is added stress and torque from the blocks. You can't really see it in the pics, but one bolt actually has an S shape bent into it. I dont know, but I might be lucky one of them didnt snap.

    Oh well, back to work!

Not sure where in the state you are located, but the Northeast Ohio Tacos sometimes go to Southington Off Road Park:

Not sure if this is ok to share here or not... If not, please let me know otherwise.

On the Ohio Tacomas Facebook page there is a meet and greet scheduled for the end of April. I assume many of us are members on both pages, but regardless I wanted to spread the word to those that aren't on social media these days.

As the year progresses, I'd like to test the waters and possibly combine a meet and greet over the course of a weekend with a campout at an Ohio campground. I'd love to even mix in a nearby trail run if that's possible. Unfortunately, I don't know the state that well so I'm all open for input and suggestions as to where the best place to set this up would be. Maybe start our own annual Ohio Takeover? Thoughts?
