I've let a lot of people (many fanboys of different makes/models) shoot my HK VP9's. All have stated...."Wow...that's so comfortable". Also, one of the most accurate out of the box pistols.

The shop local to me had a VP9B (thumb mag release). It was sold and the manager showed it to me to see how nice the trigger was. If it wasn't sold, I'd have a VP9 and not a G19.5 right now. Everything on the VP9 felt great.

    Ref the Glock sights

Glock puts those crappy plastic field goal sights on there because they recognize that everyone likes something different and intentionally make it easy to swap into what you actually want. That is by design that they need to be replaced.

With that said, they aren't the best looking or cheapest or have the best out of the box trigger, but they work and they do what they're supposed to do well. They're reliable, they're durable, they're upgradable as your training and ability grows. Theyre probably one of the most abused brands on the planet because everyone and their brother tests the next "Glock killer" against a various model. They're in duty use across the world for a multitude of reasons.

Are there other good pistols? Sure, HK, Sig, CZ, Smith and Wesson all make quality stuff that sees hard duty use, but not to the scale that Glock does.

What's really nice is that they come with three sizes of grip side & back plates (S,M,L). With all the combinations...it's easy to customize to most hand sizes.

I have the long slide kit on one of mine and it's scary accurate.

I think they continue to do it because they can. The same reason Toyota still sells the 4Runner with a 20+ year old motor and transmission.

Welcome to the club. Is that a 16in barrel upper? If so, ditch the SBA3 brace and replace it with regular stock. It's hard to tell by the pic how long it is.
You can probably find a magpul moe stock for under $50 and then sell your sba3 brace without the tube for $70 to $80.

Glock puts the crappy sights on because they are cheap. They don’t give a darned what you do once you pay them.

You're overthinking it. Just go buy one you think you like. Then down the road buy another one, and so on. After a while you will figure out what you like and sell the ones you don't. Don't make it harder than it has to be.

19 all day, because I have maybe 20,000 rounds through Glocks and 0 through Sigs. I've owned other modern pistols and always wind up selling them. What I learned is that familiarity and experience are more important than "the next cool thing" for effective and practical deployment.

Also, handling a gun at the counter is very different than shooting it. What is comfortable at the counter may not be during recoil or drawing. A Glock is a steeply angled 2x4 with a stapler for a trigger, but I know exactly how it is going to point and break. Other guns that I have owned which were much more palatable to the purists were not nearly as effective in my hands.

Get something you like, and have actually shot, if possible, and dedicate yourself to the platform if you want maximum effectiveness when your adrenaline dumps. You are the most important part of the weapon system.

Yeah, with a vertical front grip, you can't configure it as a pistol (under 16" barrel), it'd at best be an AOW.

You can put a front vert grip on it if it's overall length is over 26 inches. If it is over 26 inches long is does not become an AOW.

yeah. Tight fit and layers going in a non-optimal direction for that sort of thing.

The barrel is 14.5. And I live in ct where we aren’t allowed to have rifles so the pistol braces keeps them labeled as “other firearms” which is legal. I’m still trying to sort through the obnoxious amounts of laws that contradict each other

Ahh I get it now. What a royal pain in the ass to have to deal with. Well your "other firearm" looks great. Enjoy it and hope you got so ammo.

Thanks! I have managed to procure a few hundred but unfortunately it’s just shy of a dollar a round here. I’m hoping to get a 9mm lower in case they ban them it should be grandfathered in

I have a PSA 9mm billet lower. It's the only psa item I own but it seems to be pretty good for what I paid for it. My only complaint is that the trigger pins will walk after a fair amount of use. So that means my pins are out of spec (doubtful) or the holes where drilled slightly too large. They are tight in there but will walk. A quick fix that has been on there for 3 years now was to just get a cheap ebay set of anti walk pins for $10 shipped and they have worked perfectly since.
