    Hello gentlemen

Who sells quality headlamp sets that fit with no issues.

Or do I have to buy OEM Toyota?

Thanks and have a good day.

Do you need bulbs, or the entire housing?

For the housing, you can get CAPA certified TYC housings from Rock Auto. They're like $40 a piece, and are indistinguishable from OEM. I've been really happy with mine. Those spyder and similar type brands really seem to be more about form over function.

For bulbs, I run Sylvanias, but there are other brands that work just as well. If you want something a little more spicy than OEM, look into the "Proper headlight upgrade" for 1st gens. It mostly involves a new wiring harness and brighter Osram halogen bulbs (although I hear the Osrams are hard to find now).

I run the upgraded wire harness and the TYC housings with Sylvania bulbs..

Just whatever you do don't get LED bulbs and toss them in the stock housings.

Thank you for the reply. Useful info.

I want to change the entire housing. I purchased these
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/372458222837

After trying several "high end" light bulbs between $20 - $40 a pair that lasted less than a year. I use HELLA 9003LL bulbs. They have lasted over 2 years now and I prefer this over short life bulbs. The new housing I just purchased should make the Hellas brighter.......lol

Should work well, but just as an FYI u will need to cut some pieces of the grille for the one piece headlights to fit iirc

I've had the same Sylvanias for, sheesh, I can't remember how long. Probably about 10 years. The last few years it's been sitting a lot more because it's not my daily driver anymore. IIRC they were like $15/pr.

Generally speaking, the brighter the bulb, the shorter it lasts. Brighter means hotter, and hotter means it burns out quicker.

And as @Das it mang said, you'll need to do some modifications to get those to fit. A lot of people have trouble with those one piece units. One problem is it's hard to get them aimed properly because the headlight is attached to the side marker light. That's why the OEM are 2 piece.

Thanks for mentioning this. Good thinking with Toyota engineers, the adjustment may be an issue. I will certainly check it and if so, will return and buy the 2 piece units. It would be nice for the one piece units to allow the bulb housing to adjust from the back with knobs. But I realize this is an aftermarket part.
