This is mostly so that I can keep my brain from getting too ahead of my actual build. Since I've put it off too long and it's paid off, it's time to start acting like I care. I'd like the looks of this build to stay as close to what I call "Stock +" while being as far away from the Insta-famous look as possible with the same capabilites.

    So, here we go.

    2015 SR5 4cyl AT
    [IMG]

    Current:

    Former:

    Current:
-Suspension: 5100s set at 3rd notch, stock springs, Wheeler's 1.5" AAL
    -Wheels: Vison M2 Overland 16x8 0BS Gray
-Tires: 285/75r16 Rocky Mountain All Terrain (Formerly: 265/75r16 Cooper AT3-4S)
-Camper shell: Unknown Craigslist find (If I catch the right light, it looks like some decals used to say "Unicover"?)
    -Carrier bearing drop
    -12v to bed
    -Interior Corgi rack
    -Rear seat delete

    Planned for 2021 and beyond:
    Hood struts
    White plastidip on shell roof
White vinyl wrap on the cab roof and middle hood section (because I like dumb things)
    Sliders
    Skids
up-size tires when these are toast
    regear and rear locker/ torsen
    UCAs
    Better front coils and springs
    63" rear spring conversion
Hidden hitch and recovery points front and rear
    Split tailgate (pet project :anonymous:)
    TRD Pro headlights
    aaaaand URD SC... because reasons.

I'm putting some other random project pics here just for fun:

Hi Tate. I did it. I made a build thread. I'm so proud of me.

If I'm being honest, I've really considered doing the roof and hood white as well. Fiancé would probably disown me though.

Well, it would match. We can have a party for it though. Probably gonna do the hood, roof, and decklid of the Volvo in matte or satin black
to cover all the clear fading off....

I'm adding it to the "when the weather permits" list. I'll probably do plastidip with glossifier, or plastidip and some sort of harder paint on top. Maybe even a couple of fat racing stripes would look good.

Chaud. I'll go the vinyl route on the Volvo.
By the way, "Chaud" is real old school 2Fang slang for cool.
    I'll explain it one day.

Aluminum camper shell is the way to go since you found one. Fiberglass are too heavy and produce a significant amount of body roll - this is from experience of having 3 fiberglass and one aluminum campers on my 2nd gen. Plus you have windoors.

Those were my thoughts as well. I hunted for a long time for it and pretty much felt like I stole it for ~$100. The fiancé says it makes it look like an old man truck, whatever that means. But truth be told, I freaking love it. Because it's where we sleep when we are truck camping, I bought some cheap window film that I'm going to use for tinting the windoors when it warms up. It's still spreading my bedsides a bit, but I was surprised to find that I can actually install and uninstall it entirely by myself. I'm currently working on on a solution to get the bedsides squared up.

You almost lost me at racing strips:rofl:
Truck is looking good as it is though.
RCI is going to be offering a TW discount to be announced soon.
I can say their sliders are built solid, and easy bolt on. I got mine with powder coat and it's holding up well, better I think than finishing yourself, which I believe is a option.

What can I say, I like dumb things. I've already talked myself out of the stripes. It would turn the badgermobile into a skunktruck. I'll likely do white on the center wedge portion of the hood.

I'm doing my own sliders, though. I already have my BOM and design ready, I'm just waiting for the weather to warm a bit before I start the space-hog projects.

Maybe, but will still not be stopped because it's a Honey Badger.

I finally upgraded my metal glue gun. Now I can weld thick stuff with the garage door closed. I love stick welding and I'll fight anybody about it if they don't, but I needed to give in and have something better than a sheet metal MIG. I thought this one came with a spool gun, but I guess not.

Thanks! I haven't run it yet, but some old guys I trust suggested it and I think It'll be fine for what I need. Anything this can't do, I can stick or TIG. I still don't have an A/C tig machine at home, so this will serve me nicely when I need it for aluminum this spring.

Yeah. If I had known that this one doesn't come with a spool gun, I would have gotten the one that did or picked one up while I was there. I'll grab one later this week. I'm on snow patrol for the rest of the weekend.
