Also, don’t go EL095 as they’re the old pack. Go with EL111R - updates last year with less squeak. I have the EL112R but they still squeak a bit

    question:

I currently have the 884 up front and HD 112R in the rear.
Front sits at 22” (vs stock 18”) and rear at a whopping 25” (vs stock 20”) even with bed rack and rooftop tent.

I’m replacing the 884 with 886 soon as I’m adding a full skid set (aluminium), sliders (136lbs) and steel bumper.

Since the 886 is a bit longer than 884 (1/2” I think), can I anticipate to get the same amount in height out of it?

    cheers

As far as the EL095 vs EL111R is concerned, I ordered from Wheelers and it was listed as the 95’s, but I did in fact receive the updated leaf pack marked EL111R.

The 886 is .47” longer and a 70lb heavier spring rate. I’d expect it would sustain the weight without sagging and be longer. You’d prob end up taller than you are now with the 884’s.

Hello everyone, I just ordered my lift kit and was looking for some input. Is there anything you guys would recommend me doing differently? and Is there anything you would recommend that I know before I install it? also thoughts on the 1/4 inch spacer? and last question how much lift do you think I will achieve front and back on my 2006 tacoma double short bed cab 4x4 with a topper and no other added weight other than about 150lbs of tools in the bed. Thanks guys!
I was curious because i know you can buy the HD’s and remove a leaf but was wondering if you’re able to add one to the mediums. I ended up getting mediums because i didnt want to mess with the leaf pack but now that the springs have settled im already thinking about adding a leaf. So fickle i know...

Nah not fickle at all. I installed mediums a week ago and it’s currently “okay”, but I have a cap on order and wanted a front rake which I lost. Likely going to add a leaf myself.

I really like the ride on the mediums, but if they were to settle any more I will need something more back there.

i have an ARE shell and i think its sitting level now that they settled. Before they settled the truck had some nice rake. My rear was squatting on the stock suspension so at least its level now. The 600lb constant load of the HD’s sounded too stiff though. Here is a pic the from the day i installed them...cuz why not post truck pics, right?

Nice, looks good. Are you adding anything up front? I went with 886s and while I like them and would install them again, they gave a little more bump than expected which is why I lost the rake I was looking for.

I ordered the RSi cap that’s supposed to be about 180lb for the back.

Here are my sequential install picks for the 886s with soft valved struts, and mediums in the rear:

In the summer I was loaded down really good and was sitting about 3/4” off my superbumps and could tell I was hitting them over some dips on the highway. May be time to upgrade if the new pack will be more heavy duty. Hello Deaver Expo stage 3.

Not impressed with these Dakars CS047R w/D29XL aal both for load carrying and finish. You can see they’re flat or negative already. I have not abused these or even carried a lot of weight very often. This is with approximately half of the weight that should be in the bed. Last pic is when they were new.

Too much apparently....at least for the Dakars + aal.

IMG_1381.jpgThis is unloaded (ie. nothing in the bed), but I have a steel CBI bumper with dual swing outs w/2 20L gas cans, Highlift and 85lb wheel/tire and steel sliders. I have not weighed my truck but my guess is that I have an extra 550-650lbs (excluding the above) when loaded. I'm going to weigh the truck this summer to confirm all of this.

5100's on rear, have the front ones but haven't installed. Also have a half inch spacer to fix taco lean that I haven't installed.
Don't do any wheeling; have been reading through a bunch of posts that contradict with each other.
Looking for a 2" - 2.5" max lift. I have a leer 100xq shell on the back; no other mods. Running 265/75/16 KO2s.
Which OME coils should I get up top - 883/884/885?
What AAL do I need in the back? 1.5" or 2"?

Looking to have a level or slight rake.

Someone, please help, I've been at this non-stop for like two weeks.

885 - at first, it will be around 2.5" but will settle around 2.25"
Replace the Toyota leaf packs with the MD OME pack.

Thank you, will do 885 coils.

Any reason why you recommend OME pack vs AAL? Roughly a $400-$450 difference between the two options.

The lowest common denominator is the Toyota packs; they're shit. Ran a 2" AAL on stock leaf packs with 5k miles on it, towed a boat once, sagged and rode like shit until I replaced them with Dakars. Ditch the leafs. Do it once, do it right. You will thank me later.
