Is there anyway to tell if mine has the latest update? I didn't see a sticker under the hood as others have stated. Mine was delivered 7/2018. I purchased mine a few weeks ago, certified from Toyota dealership.

I don't see it listed on Toyotaowners website.

Some OBD scanners can tell you. Or, if you have Techstream/OVTune and the interface for it then you can use that to tell you.

I wonder if we know which OBD scanners would tell us? I saw someone on here recommend this but unsure if it will actually tell me.

I’ve done an update on mine. Was really straightforward once you have the cable and techstream working.
Happy to give you a hand if you need.

    You most likely not updated.

You can use an OBD reader to check. The Carista, OBD Fusion, and other apps will also tell you.

Alright, maybe this has been covered already but here goes. I have Tech stream successfully installed (All good there) but, the program is insisting that I perform a software update as Ver 14.20.019 is obsolete. It seems to be limiting my use of TS??

2nd ?, does tech stream need to even be installed to perform and ECU update when you already have the CUW file?

That was covered in the 1st Post.

Yes. You need TS installed to flash. As shown in the step by steps. Once installed, you just execute the CUW.

Disconnect from the internet when you run techstream so it doesn’t try to update

yes you need TS to run the cuw file

.4 hours billed on my ECU Update as well. Service writer told me it could take 3 to 4 hours to update because the computer gets slow in the afternoon. As a EE I know how long it takes to update a flash device and how this process works.

Thanks. Just got it done. Was straight forward and went smooth. Thanks for the feedback.

On a possibly related note, after updating the ECU and flashing an OV Tune the truck had Raptor lights that stopped working. Any ideas from the group on what might have caused that after ECU update? It may have reset something where I need to go into techstream and reactivate it.

It takes 3-4 hours cuz they avoid it for 3 then the tech spends and hour trying to figure out how to use techstream lol

Do you have them tied into some lights (running lights) you turned off during the flashing process and didn’t turn back on?

I turned the dome lights off since the doors were open during ECU update but that was it. They didn’t come back on after turning the dome lights back on. Checked the reverse/bed, DRL and other lights also.

Last question. How do you deal with the counter? It says I can only use the software 29-30 times before registration is required?
