Hey! I'm one who likes to monitor my machine's statuses, and I was wondering about an oil pressure gauge install and if it's possible.

I understood there were supposedly some external holes near the oil filter area next to the dummy light sensor, and is it really as easy as buying a thread adapter and a cheap gauge unit and gauge?

You don`t say Mechanical or Electrical.

I would not waste my time with electrical.

With gauges do you really want to go cheap ??

In theory that is about it I used the port where the sending unit was .

Used Copper tube to the gauge installed many oil pressure gauges just like this

    Metric adapter to pipe thread.

There is a tap just under where your oil filter screws in, not sure of thread or size. Also, I'm not sure this is the best place for an oil pressure hookup but it is there. I had to replace this cap/plug some time ago and went to a Goodyear hydraulic shop for this part which they had in as common stock on hand. Hopefully, someone can suggest an oil pressure gauge kit, SunPro mgf. long ago was one of the leaders in quality analog gauges, but that was years ago, not sure of quality these days. Good luck. Please post your install and parts used if you can do so. I would be interested in doing the same. Found this link on SunPro.
