Spring 2021 Southwest TW Bike meetup

Thread to tentatively form a MTB meetup for southwest Tacomaworld members in Spring 2021.

Added poll to decide location. Afterwards can decide dates.

 

Way to get this going. Hope I can make it!

 

Sounds fun. I will be moving the first week of April. I'm in as long as the meetup doesn't cover April 1-4.

 

Yeah, Accountants like me can't shake the first few biz days of a month either. We'll get to dates shortly.

WARNO: I'm closing the poll to location at 4pm MST, even though it looks like we have a definitive winner already.

 

The tribe has spoken, St. George area it is. New poll on dates is up.

 

Narrowing the poll down to the last 2 weekends in April.

 

Reeeeally hoping for the weekend of the 24th since the 17th is the only one I can't do...

I voted the 17th just to pick one, but I'd be good with either. We'll see what the vote count looks like.

I'm not voting on a date since I can't guarantee I'll be able up get away from the family anyway. If I am given clearance to leave for a weekend, I'll be there.

Might not be able to make it unfortunately. Found out a few days ago that the suspension linkage on my frame cracked and the bearings at the top of the shock exploded. Warranty claim opened with Giant but bike shop said more than likely 6+ weeks. The shop says they haven't been able to actually get ahold of one of their contacts at giant in 2+ weeks so I'm not hopeful... I could try to setup a rental at a shop there in st. George but rentals are not exactly cheap. Will update when its closer.

 

I'll almost certainly be there.

 

It's gonna be tentative for me. I got a job up in Denver that I'll be starting on the monday before, and since it'd be tough to take that Friday off St George may be a haul. I'll have to play it by ear.

 

That drive to St George is a long day. Driving to Moab last week took it's toll. That said, if my brother doesn't do anything that weekend for his bday (apr 28) I'll still head that way. Can prob only ride Friday and Saturday and have to make the drive back on Sunday to Colorado springs

 

Not sure if you boys are still sending it... I'm gunna have to bail out on this one. Too much going on at the moment.

 

I'm planning on being there. What's the headcount on this? I'm coming from Phoenix area.

That's the last I heard, yes. If this trip falls through though I may still take the weekend to ride Sedona, Flagstaff, or something equally close in proximity to Phoenix if anyone is interested. I've already got the time off allotted with the wife and have been itching for an MTB overnighter.

 

So far, that's the plan. I need to solidify a few things that are up in the air before I can be a full commit.
