    Hi folks,

My friend and I are complete off-road newbies, but would love to try something easy in NC. We'd consider washboard roads/fields a success at this point.

Are there any pretty easy trails in NC you'd recommend?

We're 100% stock with stock tires and 4x4.

I live in the middle. Orange County. We're happy to drive a few hours though.

I've taken stock trucks through most all of the trails except for Daniel and Dickey Bell, note wet weather conditions make everything harder, as do manuals and long beds. The trails are maintained by volunteers and the forest service(?) and destroyed by people with giant mud digger tires that really need to go elsewhere, so the trails can change somewhat day to day and season to season. Go with people that know the place, it's a huge resource and encouragement for things you might look at being new and think no way!

'Stay off the D' and Rocky Mountain loop is the hardest of the non-D trails
