Just picked my boat up, 2021 Bennington 22SVSR with SPS and 150 Mercury 4 stroke. Prop is an Enertia 15.3 x 14. WOT I am running 5870 RPM with 5800 being listed as Max. Called Mercury and they agree it should not be over 5800. My Dealer is great to work with and super helpful, he only put a 14 on based on the Bennington chart. He is open to replacing with a 15P. What's everyone's thoughts please?

Does the boat perform the way you want?

If so, then good to go.

If not, then try the 15P.

One tip, don't change the prop with the boat in the water. Too easy to drop a shear pin, nut, cotter key, prop.......wrench.......

I'm super happy with the performance overall, I just dont want to risk damage to the engine be overreving it.

I'll for sure be changing this out in the water, haha, I didn't buy a trailer. I rebuilt my whole lift while sitting on my paddleboard though and never lost a bolt so fingers crossed!

Then you could ask if you could try the 15P.

The risk is dropping it in the water. Would you be able to recover it?

If you can't recover it, then are you ready to pay for it?

This is what Mercury recommends based on your boat, engine and current performance numbers. You can see that a 14 pitch isn't even on the list. An easy stop gap is to not push the throttle full up, a 39mph pontoon is still plenty fast.

    I’ve got a 15.3 x 15” stainless prop on order.
