3/4" Baltic birch ply wood. 26" front to back, 50" wide at doors 54" wide in the back. Front support legs 6.5". I used .75"x.75" aluminum L bracket to support access doors. Countersunk original searbelt mount bolts in original holes. Commercial grade 20" carpet tiles glued with carpet adhesive. 1" webbing for pulls on access doors. Total project cost about $60.
    1/2 sheet plywood = $30
    Carpet tiles (6) = $12
    Footman loops = $8
Webbing (10") = scrap from old backpack
Various other items about $10 +/-

Excellent work! I had wanted to do something similar with access still available to the storage compartments, so this will be a huge help. If you used only a half sheet of plywood you must have pieced it together somewhere to get. a 50 & 54” length, but where?

I am in the planning stages of the platform and was thinking of incorporating the seat belt holes in the side panels. The holes will accept a threaded bolt--I know this because I bought some to try--and was thinking about using them to be able to lift the entire platform like a hinge or pivot instead of having the cut outs to access the existing storage. I would somehow attach the platform's 2 rear corners so that the entire thing lifts up towards the rear window. Trying to come up with a way to do that right now. Hope this makes sense to everyone and would welcome any other ideas.

No, it is one piece. I started with a full sheet of plywood (48x96) and cut a piece from it @ 26"x54". I purchased the whole but used only half, so I now have a piece left over that is 22"x96".

Yes, I was considering the track mat too.

    How stiff is that mat?

I wouldn't expect it to take a ton of weight, but I haven't had it flex when I throw bags, luggage etc on it. Those boxes are perfectly level with the built in storage, so it lays flat. It's great to be able to remove it and use it to lay down on to look under the truck. With factory tint on back windows, it makes it look like I have nothing back there. And I can take everything out in seconds.

Sounds like a good solution. I don't plan to put much weight on it other than groceries, work boots/gear etc so I may give that a try. Thanks for the info!

I had the track mat, Dewalt boxes, and safe set up that OP posted. It was great. It worked until I installed the SR package back panel. The track mat used to fit snug and would not shift around, the SR back panel increased the "floor space" and as such the track mat just slid around. The track mat was very useful, numerous times I would remove it to use in the garage to work on one my cars. Very multipurpose. Not strong enough to support a load by itself.

Mine is a perfect fit, but maybe because I keep the front seats pushed back a little more than you do.

This is very clean looking. What I will do with my access cab. I'll use only one support leg under the middle section however, so I can still stuff items in the passenger footwells.
