I am looking to lift my truck with a full suspension set up. I'll be getting the ARB bumper for my third gen and most likely a winch. I believe I will need heavy duty springs if that is the case.
Some of the higher end suspension companies require rebuilds and I want something that will have good longevity and not have to be rebuilt after a year or two.
I'm considering OME 2" lift with heavy duty springs, but I am open to hearing feedback.

During the winter, its too snowy to really off road so its mostly a summer thing here. My work commute is 40 miles one way 4 days a week. Dirt road daily getting to work.

OME 2" with 887 or 886 springs would be mighty fine for you, probably the 886 if you're going to be adding a 10k winch with steel wire rope and sliders and skids, by that point you'll probably want full on coil overs and at least 650lb springs.

Next step up would be an adjustable coilover, accutune off road is a good place to read and research shocks.

700# 13” coil for that bumper.
650#-700# with 14” coils if doing extended travel

I imagine that ARB bumper with winch is pushing 225lbs+

the 3rd gen has a heavy nose. I’ve been through an OME setup already and now run 700# 14” coils with just this bumper and winch at 130”lbs. I will be switching to 650’s next rebuild.

How long did the OME set up last you? Im really leaning towards that.
How is the OME kit not a coilover? I thought it included the springs and the strut? Ignorant, but confused lol.
But yes the arb is heavy and I want to make sure I get something solid. The OME kit is designed for that bumper.

personally I did not like it. It lasted 13 months. I had the 2888 coils and Dakars and in 13 months it was sagging bad. The 2888 coils are only a 590# coil, but it’s 15” long and compressed so much (because OME is designed for overlanders) that the ride practically blew my ball joints in 12 months in my SPCs. Harsh AF!
I switched to an ADS shock with 14”700# coils and it is much smoother (like MUCH smoother), but I do need 650# coil instead because I limit my adjustability in the resis. 700# 14” is a tad bit too much for me

Alright this is getting a little bit over my head now lol
So obviously the spring numbers are higher to hold more weight. And what is the deal with a 14" vs 13"? To give it more lift? I really am a noob to suspension stuff.

I was just reading reviews on the OME and people seem to really love it. Close to stock. Ride and just a little taller. and not too expensive. which is kinda what Im going for. But not sure if I should spend a little extra to get something that much nicer. I'm also not a fan of having to rebuild something after 50k miles. Id like the suspension kit to last 80-100k or whatever is reasonable.

Not even OEM shocks last that long...

Really? Are people replacing their suspension that often?

13” coils are what stock is, 14” is extended travel, and I believe that OME packs their coils at a lighter weight, but longer (15”) to achieve a consistent 2” on their lift packages.

I’m no expert, but I’m tired of going through coils

Man, I've got some research to do. Thanks for explaining some things to me. Maybe I'll try the OME and when it fails, I will upgrade to something better.

At 80-100k miles most likely new struts or shocks

Alright, I am back with a few different options in my cart. I'm still deciding to get the OME. For longevity and simplicity and cost, plus all the benefits.
Which option would be best to get of the three?
Do I need the strut assembly piece?
Should I get the soft or firm struts? It says firm for added weight to front (plan on arb bumper and winch) but soft for better ride on street. 90% street and want a softer ride so am considering the soft strut.

    Any feedback appreciated.
