I unfortunately do not have a picture of this spot. When you pull the headunit you can peek into the opening and see a clear vertical space all the way to the floor board. I just arranged the wires to take up the least space possible and slid the amp into the opening. I also have a CS anytime camera module hooked up behind the HU as well, so there's plenty of space back there.

Good to know. I planned on putting the 200.4 behind the head unit as I want to put the Hideaway under the seat and I’ll have a ham radio to go under a seat as well.

I hate to be the one to comment on a 2 y/o thread and ask the “will this work with” questions but here I go anyways.

Has anyone tried this with the 2021 Taco yet?

This specific guide does not apply to the newer models. They unfortunately use different harnesses

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who asked or answered questions. Had my Kicker speakers and Subaru tweeters for about a year. I was impressed with the difference over stock, but decided to add the Kicker Key amp. Wow! What a difference. Thanks for compiling all the information to build the t-harness @tpp4 it was much appreciated. I also want to give a shout out to @destin_meeks for patiently answering everyone's questions.

Forgive my ignorance. Is this the only way to add a kicker key amp to the 3rd gen? There is no alternative to building your own harness? (Or having someone build you one).

I was under the impression that were was some sort of inline adapter that would sit between the factory HU and existing harness and extract those connections into something you could simply plug n play into the amp. :anonymous:

I know this is a fairly old thread, but I'm hoping people are still willing to provide some support.

I got my wiring harness all planned out. Does this look right @destin_meeks or anyone else? I'm pretty good with electrical so I'm not super concerned about it being wrong, but always good to check with the experts.

I appreciate people still supporting this thread after thing long.

I am planning on upgrading my audio system and was checking out the metra harnesses on Amazon. Amazon says they dont fit the 2019 tacoma. Is that amazon just being stupid? Can someone confirm that these harnesses work for 2019 with jbl audio upgrade? Thanks. Tacomaworld is filled with amazing people.

Does NOT fit the JBL. Entirely different ball game. Almost nothing in this thread applies to you

Thanks for the reply and quick response. I havent found any yet but any idea of harnesses or builds with the jbl system? I was thinking of taking out the jbl sub and amp this weekend and seeing what I can tap into there.

Thanks again. Reading through a lot of threads and seeing your responses, you have helped out a lot of people.

It all depends on your goals and the system you’re trying to build

I'm sorry that was a broad question. I have found more info on installs with the JBL systems. I'm upgrading all the speakers this weekend and doing the sound deadening. After that I will be looking into upgrading the sub and adding aftermarket sub amp. Probably will be looking into adding the PAC AmpPRO so I can add amps without tapping into yota wires.
