Like @snowsk8air2 ’s table not as fun as truck stuff. Welded and built a fence out of spare parts for my landlord that lets me keep a bunch of tools and stuff at his place. Dogs needed a fenced off part of the property. Got some porosity in places probably from not enough paint being removed but it’s enough for what it is.

Certi-flat weld table being added into the garage shop. Gonna be a nice addition. Gonna work on adding an extension for the chop saw to sit level with the table top on one side and then the welder/ plasma on the other as well as a few other misc additions to make this the ultimate little welding/ fab cart

I’m going to pull the trigger on a bender. I don’t have JD money or space for that style bender so I’m looking at the Speedway End, Eastwood or Affordable benders. They are all the same upright compact style. The speedway comes with 1 aluminum die, the Affordable is out of stock and the Eastwoood comes with 5 Steele dies. I’m leaning towards the Eastwood. Anyone have any feedback on these. Thanks.

I’m looking for some feedback on a question I’ve seen asked many times here but figured an updated opinion could be of some help. I’m starting to collect tools needed for a 1.75 cage for my 1st gen, I’m looking for a tube bender and all things bent tube related so far I’m looking at either the jd bender/die/bother or the jmr equivalent. Any opinions or recommendations are appreciated, I’m definitely on a budget so not looking for the air/hydro just a simple solid setup. Thanks

Been super happy with my jd model 32 bender. Plus you can do the swag air/hydro assist at a later date if you choose. But bending without it is very easy.

I’m looking to swap in a tundra axle in the near future and am planning on putting a back brace/truss on it, specifically the ruff stuff 9” truss. I’m happy with the bed cage setup I have so I won’t be trying to mount the shocks outside the frame rail-my question is will I be able to weld shock mounts to the truss itself? Or is that not a structurally sound place? Thanks!

As long as it’s 3/16 it should be fine. Even if it was 1/8 I’d plate the area for the shock mounts with 1/8 and weld it to that

The RS truss is 1/8" which is kind of the same thickness as the material in the frame almost as thick as the axle tubes but I'd tie the shock mount into both the tube and the truss if not only the axle tube rather than going off of just the truss if possible. Are you running shocks in or out of the frame though - that might make this an easier question to answer.

This is the only pic I could find anywhere that has shocks mounted to truss and just so happens to be a tundra axle and same setup lol...for reference...but I’m guessing this is beefier than any 9” truss available out there

You could ask @RelentlessFab how thick his truss is - I was thinking your shock mounts were outside the frame. You could weld in some bracing inside the truss or landing pads to spread the load.

Right on thanks for the replies, I was just trying to visualize it all than came to discover it’s not a common setup, which than had me second guessing it

Yeah, the bottom welds look like shit. This is a general use welder, so about 50 people have access to it. I could not figure out what was wrong with it until I realized that they had the wrong size selected for the feed motors. Feeding .030 wire through a .035 channel without realizing it makes you question your machine and capabilities

also finished my rear swing out and completed my 63” swap

The other day I saw a street sweeper somehow losing all of the stuff it had collected - the irony as it left a wake of debris in it's path.
