I used the front camera I just installed as my spotter. The camera has the green, yellow, and red guidelines and I stopped the truck when the red guideline went over the edge. I had a blast. Hit all the trails I wanted to and then some. Top Of The World, Rose Garden Hill, Onion Creek, Flat Iron Mesa and Steel Bender. There are a bunch of great pictures on the ROCKtober Therapy thread.

Today was a fun day! Met with @johntoyota, @Littles, @JoeCOVA, Patrick, who @johntoyota, @Wulf and I met last September when we skied Red Cone, along with @Woody23 and her friend Dak (I hope I remembered her name right). We went to one of the few off road trails open this time of year, Rainbow Falls. Mr. Sun kept the temperature pleasant. We played on Moab Hill (aka Little Moab).

The trail presented dry rocky dirt, less mud then I expected and snow in the shady areas for example at this off camber section.
    IMG_3137.jpg

Sorry @Woody23, I did not get any pictures of you. Next time!

I recovered one of these again.
    IMG_3138.jpg
I met Adrian on the trail. His bike broke its clutch cable so we threw it in the bed and took him back to the parking lot.

@johntoyota and @Littles are out there somewhere camping overnight.
The rest of us decided to stay warm at home.

I'm too busy doing things, so I either take zero photos or get ONE the entire weekend…

Like this on the opening weekend of Rampart Range Recreation Area.

Understandable. I just like visiting this thread since Texas has nothing like it so it’s cool to see.

Rainbow Road was passable to the reservoir last weekend. No problem for a stock Tacoma.PXL_20210614_021706474.jpg

Ran Red Elephant Hill with @alee891 and his son River in his 04 Tundra with 35's. My friend Scott joined me as a passenger. We had partly sunny skies, perfect temperature, and views of white puffy clouds kissing the mount tops. Wild flowers decorated the landscape.
    IMG_3361.jpg

Friday's rain storm presented a moist trail. The slickness in spots gave us an extra challenge requiring lockers especially when climbing uphill over boulders. The slickness helped in one instance. If the rear tire wedged against a boulder, the rear would easily slide around the boulder. @alee891 mastered that move a few times today.
    IMG_3368.jpg

Red Elephant Hill is narrow with some tight tree lined S turns that would make it it hard for say, a 3rd gen double cab long bed to maneuver around (@johntoyota). Also some off camber sections with low branches would ding a Flippac if a vehicle was carrying one (@Littles). Many trees had bumper height gouges on them. Both corners of @alee891 's front bumper coated with tree sap and bark can attest to the trail's narrowness. (Red arrow marks the spot)
    IMG_3364_LI.jpg

On the way up, near one of the beginning obstacles, a man came walking around the corner to my window to say he and his Chevy Colorado had enough. He planned to back down to an open spot off the trail to let us by. More pics:

My recently installed manual hubs worked well. Looks like I assembled everything properly.

We avoided the rain and made it home by 3:00 pm. Another great day in the mountains on a very fun trail! I hope to wheel with @alee891 again. It was fun the listen to Scott’s reactions as Winkle climbed over the obstacles.

Does anyone know how tame the road from Taylor Park Reservoir up to Mirror Lake is? This is the beginning (or end) of the Tincup pass trail. We're camping there this weekend and couple buddies with campers are wondering if they'll be able to tow up there.

I've pulled a tent trailer thru it, it's mainly just rocky, rough, but nothing an ambulance can't get thru, and they do frequently with the ATV stupidity.

Edit; if they have long trailers, I'd be worried about losing the plumbing if it's not tucked high and tight.

It's pretty tame. You gonna try fly fishing at the lake?

yep, we’ll fish it a bit. The primary targets are going to be the streams around Taylor park, but I’m sure we’ll try and pull a few out of the lake, too.

I took my parents up to the top of Peak 10 in Breck yesterday who had never been off-road -- they're in! Next summer I'll have to get some skis -- quite a party up at the top. I randomly caught the ski jumper in the last pick lol. The trail is probably an 'easy' although in front of me a chevy CO came down on a rock on her oil pan and put a hole in it. Truck made it another 100 yards to pull of as the oil left the vehicle and is probably still sitting up top - so I would recommend some skids.

My parents first time in the dirt -- great way to get them a great view of Breck and the surrounding mountains.

It's good to have a destination -- surprise party for us at the top. We noticed the ski jumper when we got home and saw the pics lol.

Leadville area was starting to pop this weekend, lots of oranges in fields of green, didn’t take many pics but can see in the top left. Next weekend should be prime.
