This is the one I’ve had for about 5-6 years. Brand is True American and I think I bought it at either Bi-mart or Wilco farm supply. I take it to the grinder once or twice a year depending on use and surface rust on the blade. Been good to me.

I have pretty much the same one except that mine is a different name and it has a black handle I’ve realized that I can pretty much cut through anything with it though so it’s awesome I even use it to split big rounds that’s how well it cuts... My grandfather had it before me and I’ve had it for probably eight years

I feel like you can get a pretty solid axe for under $40-50 and as long as you keep it sharp with a little oil on the spots you sharpen it will last a super long time. Kind of a on time purchase as long as you take care of it.

I’ve had the same Axe for many years. Replaced the head once and handle once. Best axe ever.

I have a Husky axe, not the splitting head. I think it's 4 lb? Bought it at Lowe's and only used it once really. I can't really compare it to anything, but it's an axe and it works. Composite handle (EDIT: Fiberglass handle) has me skeptical about long term durability. I've seen some really cool old axes before, but not something I have sought out. Too busy obsessing over other truck parts.

Yeah, fiskars makes quality stuff. That’s what my bow saw is, along with quite a bit of our gardening tools. I have a buddy with a True Temper axe that seems good quality as well.

My splitting maul is a Husky. No complaints and has done its job just fine. That True American axe I have does seem like better quality than the Husky though. That being said, I have a ton of Husky tools with no real issues.

Yeah-there are some really nice wood handle axes out there that are older than me and still solid.
Seems like most axes are good enough.

Just putting this out there. If everything works out and I can find a spot to go; I’m hoping we can do some sort of a get together March 13th or 14th.
Looking more for a spot to drive to and park and roast hot dogs or something.
It’s really hard to plan for anything with the weather this time of year. I’ll post more info if it looks like it can happen.

You bought a husky axe at lowes?

I have a husky axe, it feels quality. Best part of husky hand tools is the no questions warranty. Walk into home depot, walk out with new tool if broken.

I suppose I should mount it in my truck.

I’m in the same boat. It just gets thrown in the back right now. I did just get some bed channel nuts and quickfists to put it in, just haven’t had any time for a few weeks.
