DomeRock Module for Courtesy Rock Lights V4 by DSIM Solutions

Yay, got my fade back with my v2 dome rock to Switch-Pros harness.

 

Just a quick down and dirty update related to the full harnesses I have in the works. I have received most of the stuff for the rock lights (1st round at least). However I am just missing the t-harnesses for the cab light switch. Will be a week or two at least before I can get those shipped to me. Getting close. Once I get those in I should be ready to drop em (I'll end up posting a new thread).

For now in the meantime I need someone with a long bed that can be my first sale.

Will offer a discount for someone with long bed and can shoot/edit a good install video. Preferably someone that has some videos they have made before that I can vet the quality.

Anyone that installed ever have the dome lights turn on and not turn off (door mode and on mode) as soon as the harness is connected, minus the split to the dsim rock module?

im just guessing completely, but I’m wondering if one of my wires is flip flopped on the harness that connects the two plugs in the apiller that you have to disconnect to insert this one.

 

Just ordered mine.

 

Well, I hooked up the universal kit in my 2gen today. Needless to say, it doesn't work.

Since DSIM appears to be AWOL and the DomeRock v4 is out of stock, has anyone managed to reverse engineer this?

 

It wouldn't be hard to do, it's a simple circuit. If you want the easy route, but want to spend 10x more, then you can look at purchasing the SET LED illumination kit. Part number is 00016-00069.

 

The real utopia would be a PWM power based fade in / out matching the dome but off an alternate power source so it could be used for rock lights / proximity lighting. That would be killer.

To emulate this, wire up a relay like so? 12V+ output would trigger the rock lights and the (-) Trigger would come from a fuse tap on the dome fuse. I'd still need an always-hot 12V+ near the cabin fuse block.

 

Not sure what your image is of, but I think I've seen @caribe makaira post schematics of what needs to be tapped into. He likely has detailed images to get you started.

 

First of all, my hat's off to you and @daveeasa. I encountered your posts in almost every SwitchPro or wiring thread I searched for. I appreciate the expertise you lend on TW.

I poked through @caribe makaira 's history (saludos!) and came across this post recommending to tap into the jellyfish launcher switch AND set the SwitchPro trigger to active low input. I already have a trigger wire tapped into the [also negative switch] dome fuse so I'll try changing my SwitchPro settings to trigger on an active low signal first. If the dome light fade in/out messes with the trigger, I'll petition @kmorgan3 for their cargo switch intercept harness.

 

While appreciated, my posts are nothing compared to theirs. I'm not sure how the trigger works with the SP, but I imagine fading does not work. It will likely turn on and off as desired though. I'm personally a fan of the fading myself.
