Ahh I’m still on the fence after reading about the company and how their old brand didn’t throw light well.
I wish I could see pictures of these on the truck without the aftermarket bumper (from their website).
Curious how the turn signals in conjunction with side mirror turn signals to.

The Taco turned 100k miles last week. It got oil and filter change last weekend. Today I rotated the tires. Greased the upper control arms. Checked front and rear diffs and transfer case. Oil was changed last fall. I didn't fell like taking the RCI skid off. Used this modified ratchet to get the front diff fill plug out. Came out real easy.

For the price that people pay for these......I would want something that not only looked good but was extremely reliable as well. I have heard nothing but negative reviews on Alpharex, not just on TW but all over the internet and how their headlights have consistent problems. These things are going to be like $1000. That's insane. This is like getting a hooker at the Bunny ranch and then finding out she has more diseases then a hospital.

I don't get the whole headlight thing anyway... 2nd gen Toyotas have great headlights compared to Ford, Dodge, and GM products, so why spend money to have headlights like them?

Have you personally used a pair of Alpharex headlights on one of your vehicles?

Well, the totaled 2012 Baja is coming along. The wrecking yard I've been dealing with is amazing, and have made everything easier than anticipated by sending more than I expect. The axle came with all brake hardware assembled and even included the drum. The spring perch and frame section came as asked, and they also sent the front sections with the front spring perches.

I've rebuild the left side spring and figured out how the splines on the driveshaft matched up, so it's connected. Yesterday I replaced the axle and while the bed is off I pounded out the dents. From twenty feet away it looks pretty good, and that's good enough for me.

Oh... and the replacement wheel arrived from Dallas where it languished for over a week after I ordered it due to their weather problems. It looks really good, so now I'll have to paint it to match the others or just paint all four. Probably paint all four...LOL

I have not, so I can't say from personal experience, and I fully admit to this. I also understand that the internet can be full of just negative and be very light on positive reviews. My argument is that if I am going to invest, and I use the term invest because for a headlight for our vehicles it is 3-4x more than other headlights on the market, I want to be sure that I am not just getting value for my money, I am also getting reliability for my money. This is why I invested in buying a Tacoma in the first place, value and reliability for the money. Sure you can by a newer truck from a different brand for cheaper but you really don't know what you are going to get. When I constantly read the review of Alpharex headlights, and I have read a lot over the past 6 months because I was looking at them for a while but they never did offer a 12-15 headlight until now, I did read a lot of good reviews sighting the way that they look on the truck, the coolness factor, and the "glad I spent the money" reviews. I am just pointing out that those reviews are very few and far between both on and off of TW. People having problems with condensation and moisture, problems with the DTRL burning out within 6 months to a year, Problems with fitment during the install and needing modification to fit, problems with wiring.....

I really do love the look of these headlights. I REALLY do. If I am going to buy something in a headlight, that is $495-$1000 (depending on which one you get) I want to know that it is something that is going to last. I mean seriously, You can get some full front bumpers for that price. I also understand that there will always be difficulties with "some" bad lights getting out there due to a small production flaw. But if I am going to buy a Ferrari, I want a Ferrari and not a Yugo delivered to me with the Ferrari body on it. This is just my 2 cents.

Those lights looks cool, but Ive never had an issue with my factory lights. And its a 7 year old truck. To this day, my wife still complains a out how bright my headlights are if Im driving behind her.

If/when it comes to replacing mine, Ill likely stick to OEM. Reliable, and I know exactly what I am getting.

Been thinking about getting rid of the chrome grill surround and grabbing a new set of oem pro headlights for a while now (have had this laying around my desk the past 6 months for reference for when I finally pull the trigger). Just been too cheap to replace something that works fine.

Also, to stay on-topic (kind of) with what Ive done to my second gen. This was late last week though. New to me Relentless Fabrication mid height bars, and finally pulled the trigger on a tent. Psyched for spring to come so I can get my family out camping and exploring.

Roam Adventure Co. Love the tent but their customer service is absolutely awful.

After alot of comparison, I chose the vagabond rtt from Roam because it seemed to be the best bang for the buck. Free shipping, included premium mattress and anti condensation pad, sky lights, etc.

Box arrived with minimal damage from their shipping partner -Fed-Ex Freight so I accepted the shipment.

    1E42FE8D-A359-4E0A-B792-9F320A8F875D.jpg

Upon unboxing, it was apparent one of the corners took an impact during shipping, causing a tear in the fabric. Also a cover meant to protect the canvas from the bolt broke.

    D8890C39-CB45-4259-8761-4B2FCFC7CE2C.jpg 355F5501-0255-4D2E-8D85-78AFD1BE3565.jpg

Reached out to them with pictures; They said its minor, and shouldn’t be a problem. They recommended me to purchase tent repair tape (I was pretty livid after spending almost 2k on a tent only to receive it damaged and their recommendation is togo buy another product to fix it..)

After some back and forth they finally gave me a tiny discount but I wouldn't say it makes up for the damage or frustration.

Other than that, it seems well built; comparable to my friends Tepui. However, I cant recommend Roam since they take zero accountability if your item is damaged in transit. If your set on one of their tents, go through a retailer; pick it up in person and inspect it. Or go with another company entirely. I wish I did.

I will second that. I worked at Fedex freight for 4 years and they will hire anyone off the street that can read and then set them loose behind the wheel of a forklift! I have seen so much damaged fright there from dumb people just not being careful.
I recently got my tent from Tuff stuff and it was packaged in a crate and had zero damage but was also shipped roadrunner.

I mean, its really not that hard. I just had hernia surgery late november, and I moved this by myself with a dolly; obviously making sure Im not over exerting myself.

In high school I worked in an ice factory. My scrawny ass was moving pallets of ice, about 6 foot tall, via pallet jacks. I dont understand the issue about safely moving heavy shit in a controlled manner.
