    Hi!

I recently did the $250 speaker upgrade and while I was happy with the sound, the volume seemed to get worse if anything.

I purchased a 4 channel amp and line output converters, but I am stuck on how to deal with the tweeters. I ordered all new speaker wire so I will be getting rid of all factory wiring.

I also bought these passive crossovers:

But since the 6x9 Kicker speakers (https://www.crutchfield.com/p_20646CC693/Kicker-46CSC6934.html) have built-in tweeters, it seems like this will waste all the high-frequency sound they are capable of making. Do the Subaru Kicker tweeters have a crossover built-in? Can I just jump a wire from the 6x9 to the tweeters and be fine? Can I just use the tweeter side of the crossover and bypass the woofer straight to the 6x9s?

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.
    Mark

The Subaru HF speakers have a high pass capacitor. It doesn’t make any sense to have HF in the lower door speaker if you intend to run component tweeters however.

    Pick one.

It is generally preferable to place the high frequencies as close to ear level as you can get them because off axis response is less accurate.

I’m wondering if it were your system, would you utilize that crossover I linked? Or just connect the tweeters directly to the front speakers?

The Subaru tweeters AFAIK have a filter installed that is selected to work with a woofer that is receiving a full range signal. For that reason, I would not use the separate passive crossover unless it solves something, because by using it, you are overriding the crossover frequency that the manufacturer selected for that setup.
