That's a nice looking ride! I will say I did love driving the 2015 more than the 2021, but I would like to have at least an access cab if only for moto gear.

@Hercanstein that green aclb you posted made me look like... 2-3 times. Just love that model.

In other news, I saw a TRD OR pop up at a Ford dealer. A friend checked it out and said it smelled of smoke. :( Also, the photos look like really bad cupping on the tires... which makes me wonder how that happened... wheel balance? Suspension damage? Not sure if this is worth trying to press on... even if I get the smoke smell out, I'm concerned about the tire wear cause.

Access cab FTW. I posted earlier but again... take your time to get as close to exactly what you want and be prepared to travel. It was a 7 hour one way trip to get to mine and of course ask alot of questions beforehand and ask for alot of pictures maybe a video. PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION

took awhile to find my perfect 2nd gen 2015, v6,4wd, manual transmission, access cab. Purchased a about 1.5 years ago.

Keep looking and eventually one will find you hopefully

I went from DCSB to a full size. There's a short adaption period going to a larger vehicle, but in very short order it becomes a non-issue. You'd get use to the DCLB in no time, and figure out how to navigate your parking lot problems. The plastic backs on the folded down rear seats makes the perfect place for hauling your riding gear. I don't think my Moto bag would fit in the back of an access cab. I'm not sure how you'd squeeze 2 gear bags back there.

Had the opportunity to check out a used 2019 TRDOR ACLB and a 2015 TRD Sport DCLB. Putted around and played with parking again... even found another Taco to park next to and compare notes. After test driving a few full size trucks, the DCLB took lil to no effort to park forward or in reverse. Short adaption period indeed @Bushed ! Unfortunately the AC reeked of smoke and the DC had thoroughly rusted body damage.

@DiscoYaker I luckily have a very supportive brother who encouraged me to do the same. In order to relieve stress about an upcoming race clinic, he is letting me borrow his old Ranger AC to get there. I have a lot of saved searches set up and alerting me of new finds, and I am prepared to road trip if needed. About the pre-inspection, how did you manage that from a distance?

The pre purchase inspection can be a challenge when you have to travel a distance just to get to the vehicle. I tried calling a few mechanics to see if they would go check it out before I made the trip, no luck. On another truck I looked at, and passed on, it was a pain to get an inspection. Most shops needed me to make an appointment for a few days afterwards which wouldn't work for me. Finally found a small local shop that put it on a lift almost right away. On The truck I bought I just ended up making the 7 hour drive hoping it would be OK. Luckily when I showed up it was good to go but still got an inspection. I never thought about it before but I'm sure if you post on a local thread some tacomaworld member might go check it out for you before you make the trip. Also try to get extra pictures especially of the undercarriage. Keep grinding through those searches

@DiscoYaker Thank you for the clarity!

So maybe this is dumb but I've been hung up waiting on an off-road longbed to pop up... and I really like the idea of the tech package if I do a DCLB. As a perpetually cold woman, I would die for heated seats, but Ive accepted the compromise of not having them. I also love the cement grey and various blues. That said... two TRDOR have just popped up... both in less desirable colors (mag grey and silver), but they tick every box (4xw v6 trdor long beds with tech package and heated seats)! One is an hour away and ACLB and the other is 3 hours away and DCLB/longboi. I've never been so distraught over counting doors or trying to decide if I can make silver sexy. XD

Well make sure those aren't orders and are actually available before sweating any decision! This happened to me in my search for a very specific config a lot.

Good luck on your search. Just so you know.. you can have aftermarket heated seats installed on any trim level. I installed seat heaters on the passenger side for ~$120 and 4 hours of cursing. The heater switch looks very oem-esque (but doesn't resemble the factory heated seat horizontal 'bar' panel.)

If you're buying a truck to haul your bike be sure to try it out (if you haven't already). When I first bought my truck I thought I'd drag the motorcycle everywhere BUT without a loading dock on each end it can be a huge PITA/danger (w/just a loading ramp.)

Like post #50 said you can always get heated seats after the fact. I wouldn't get to hung up on that. It isn't to hard for you, someone else or a shop to get them installed and make it look and work great

It's more of a "It's already there" factor. I'm definitely not afraid to install heated seats; I spent 5 years installing mobile electronics before I went back to school. :)

As for loading bikes, I'm confident I can load/unload my FE 350 alone. I've never loaded the 1250GS and would probably avoid it or seek assistance.

The closer mag grey 2016 TRD-OR ACLB is awaiting inspection completion and detail. The carfax shows the vehicle has had every service minus one tire rotation completed by the dealer; no accidents. It's also a CPO. They want $30k ($8k cheaper than new not including taxes/fees). I'm scheduled to go see it tomorrow afternoon.

    :fingerscrossed:

Had become casual in my search. Luckily a CarGurus alert tipped me off that a dealer I'd already spoken to received a 2016 TRD OR ACLB as a trade in. I texted him and asked why he was holding out on me. :p It took a few days to organize things, wait for inspection, and get someone to look at the vehicle for me, but I sealed the deal last Friday!

Thank you to everyone for your patience and helpful tips. <3
