Chattanooga? Well, I could've brought it to you within a month but I guess you didn't know or wanted to go, no worries. Congrats on your new SP!

There are a million threads on this, correct. My setup is tried and true and MUCH cheaper than lithium. Like I said, it's not light and I'm not worried about it. I know how much life I'll get out of a lead acid/AGM. Do you know how much life you'll get out of a lithium? No one does yet, the technology is changing too fast and the prices too high. As for charging curves what I've done has always worked fine. My truck is not a daily driver so use a 3 stage charger when I'm at home. I usually keep one hardwired to my rig with an RV type AC plug in. If it were a daily it would stay mostly topped up from use and it works fine that way too.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, just to give folks a different idea who think they have to have all of this modern high end stuff like Redarc, DC to DC chargers and lithium batteries. It's not at all necessary, just a luxury that requires specific upkeep like any system. You mentioned one other thing, 'potential' cost difference. There is no potential about it, unfortunately.

I have my batwing I’ll toss on. Hate the damn thing but will have no issues. Ran it with a camper shell before no problem.

I'm planning on using mine with a OVS 270 awning. It's what I had on the GFC. I've got three brackets that are supposed to be waiting on me when I pick it up.

What dates are you guys targeting?

What type/brand of batteries are you running? What does your total config cost look like, just curious?

Plugging it in at home works too with keeping it topped up - you don't need to fully juice them all the time but once a week or so goes a long way to keep deep cycles healthy.

For batteries, I would recommend LiFePO4 packs. The prices are not much more even including a DC-DC charger, especially if you go DIY which isn't hard. About $500 for the cells and BMS and $200 for a solid Renogy DC-DC charger with MPPT for solar input in addition.

4/3 is the install date so we will be up there on 4/2. plan is to get at least halfway on 4/1.

I went with 2 AGMs but in retrospect having the redarc I would like to go with some smaller lighter Lifepo4 packs. being able to mix and match the batteries is awesome. As @dschreib noted that or the renogy and some panels adding solar is cheap. the dcdc on both have solar inputs so $100 in panels and wire and your set for 24/7 power. I was doing the plug in from time to time but how its now with some sun it runs all ay every day no problem.

I use the Renogy DCC30S wired into the alternator with both it and my battery (~1.5kWh) located behind my rear seat. It recharges pretty quickly on its own and I haven't set up solar yet. They have a voltage sense built in so that it only runs when the car is running without you needing to run a separate line from the ignition.

Just got Cindy's email for invoice #1 and we're looking at 6-8 weeks out for my build!
Originally was mid-July but now mid/end-May for 3rd gen Tacoma (spreadsheet updated).
They are apparently ramping up production for other vehicles and want to get as many tacos done before that happens.

This might be the first Inferno/X-1 launch.
