I am looking to get some V-Rock Storm VR17 17x10 wheels for my 09 dcsb. Will 17x10's fit without spacers? They have a -15 offset. I know there are a million questions asked daily on what sizes wheels/tires that fit or do not fit on these trucks. I just need to know if I will need spacers or not, hopefully I won't need them. Going with 265/70/17 with 2" lift btw.

The 265s I don’t believe are approved for mounting on a 10” wide wheel.

I'm mainly asking about the wheels. If they will fit directly or if I will need spacers or not.

No you won't need spacers but like above get at least a 275 wide tire.

You will probably have to remove the front mud flaps if you have any. Every truck is a little different.

That was the first thing I did when I got the truck. It's gonna be a 5100 2" lift

There are a couple trucks on here running 17x9 wheels with -25 offset and 265/70/17 tires and ~2" lift, and they did NOT need a body/cab mount chop.... but as others have mentioned, every truck is different.

17x10 wheels with -15 offset will poke out of the fender 3mm more than a 17x9 with -25. I don't think you need to worry about wheel spacers for inner clearance... your issue will actually the opposite... the wheel is sitting out so far, you're more likely to rub on the body mount and fender liners if you go with anything larger than 265/70/17... and personally, I think a 265 tire is too narrow for a 10" wide wheel.

    So
So 265/70R17 on a 9" wide -12 with stock sport suspension will rub?

I did a search and see that others had very minor rubbing with 17x9 and -12 and 265/70/17... but not every truck will rub. This thread has lots of pictures and info:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/stock-tacoma-with-265-70-17-pictures-please.594730/page-9

For what it's worth, I'm running 17x9 -12 wheels and 285/70/17 and lifted 2.75" in front. I have zero rubbing during normal driving, and I'm on stock UCAs. I haven't trimmed a thing. My shop said I'm the only truck he's worked on that didn't rub with this setup :notsure:

One thing to be careful of if you're going to wider tires is rubbing on the UCA. The installer should be able to tell if that's happening, and if it does you'll need spacers. If you wanted to go to 275, then you'd likely want to go down from a 70 to a 60 or 65 to get the same outer diameter

-12 vs -25 offset will put the tires 1/2" closer to the UCA with the same width of wheel and tire. Since the spacers would have the wheel rotating around a bigger arc relative to the spindle axis, that might then lead to needing to do more cutting than someone with a 17x9 wheel at -25 offset and 265/70 tire unless you're going to be able to avoid turning all the way to steering lock.

Regardless of what else you do to the truck, I'd recommend removing the front flaps regardless. On stock wheels/suspension for my 2010 TRD OR, they used to scrape the ground on streets in my neighborhood where tree roots had pushed up some of the pavement. Also, they somehow seemed to re-direct the splash from entering 2-3" deep water around to above the hood and at 35-40mph onto my own windshield.
