What foods or liquids have you taken to help with bowel movements? How fast acting are they?

Some of it depends on where your constipation comes from. If you're looking to regulate, fibrous foods that are great for BMs are gonna be veggies, whole grains, beans, bananas, lots of stuff. Basically, if you're eating a balanced diet you should be in-taking a decent amount of fiber. Another important thing is if you aren't drinking enough water with your fiber, it won't work the way you want it to, so stay hydrated. Not being sedentary helps of course. Probiotics can get things going, so eating yogurt a few times a week, taking a supplement, things like that, especially if you take antibiotics frequently or just got off of them, that'll regulate things in the lower tract as well. If you need help beyond that, senna is a natural laxative you can buy for cheap otc; it promotes general movement in the gut. Miralax is pretty gentle as well as long as you're keeping hydrated; it basically helps add water to the stool that's having trouble moving through. If you don't drink a ton of coffee, that's a great way to go too. Like I said, it really depends on what the overall cause of your constipation is and how long you go between bowel movements. Normal causes of constipation would be an unbalanced diet, being super sedentary, taking certain medications, being dehydrated, etc. Hopefully that helps.
I'm not a doctor by any means, but I have a lot of experience from counseling while working in pharmacy, and deal with constipation myself resulting from a surgery that left me with a semi-paralyzed digestive tract, so sometimes I can go quite a while without being able to go. Because my stomach doesn't empty properly, I have to avoid large amounts of fibrous foods which makes things a bit more difficult. I know after over a week it can kinda feel like you're harboring a cactus in your abdomen, haha. I hope that helps.

    ^ Good advice there ^

I will also add coconut (can get the snacks, typically has chia or flax seed) and tons of water. Limit your sugar intake and replace any sugary beverages with clean water.
I also like to grind my own flax seed and use it as a topping for fresh fruit, oatmeal, etc.
    Don't forget to exercise.

Kale. It's also very nutritious loads of vitamin c. I usually put kale, broccoli and spinach and a banana in my nutribullet. It taste pretty good as you pretty much only taste the banana

Oatmeal is a great source of fiber.

I've been having overnight oats (steel cut) for breakfast...add in some berries, banana, chia seeds. Seems to be doing the trick!

I love fresh ground flax! I like adding it to cereal. As a kid, I used to mix ground flax and honey and just eat it lol

Old fashioned or steel-cut oatmeal (not instant) paired with coffee. Good combo for regular bowel movements :crapstorm:

An apple works for me. Also grape fruits. And Quaker oats are a great source of fiber and for lowering cholesterol.
I also stay away from bacon & eggs for breakfast. Only meat I eat is lean turkey breast, and fish occasionally. Potatoes, bean, rice are some of my main plant protein sources with peanuts, pistachios pop corn and such.

Kirkland Metamucil stuff works great. Also zucchini does me right. Haha. I had a surgery a while back and the pain meds had me all bound up. The Metamucil set me straight and I’ve stuck with it. I do 1 scoop at night and I’m “good to go”.
