Looking for the size of this screw. I had to drill out the screw to add the anti-theft bracket. It is a sunk head torque screw. Thanks for your help!tacoma_tailgate_screw1.jpg

Is it the same screw part number for a 2021 tailgate as well ? I stripped mine as well they paint them and it must make it harder to remove

it should, there are minor changes from 2020 to 2021. The dealer would confirm.

Screws don’t come out without stripping them
    What size drill
Bit you use to remove it . My screw is on my new truck and is like glued in lol so I’m gonna see if any way besides drilling it out to remove it . I sprayed it with WD-40 and nothing won’t budge and other way ? Or ideal to remove it

I don't remember the drill size. I don't think there is any other way to get it out. We had to do the same thing on my brother's Gen 2 taco.

If you can reach it with a hand impact driver, I'd give that a try before drilling. A lot of times the impact will break screws like that loose that would otherwise strip. That tool is invaluable when removing brake drum retaining screws. You can get a nice one from a tool truck or auction site, but a cheapo from a parts store or HF would probably do the trick if you don't intend to use it a lot.
    Here's an example:
    https://www.amazon.com/TEKTON-2910-...ocphy=9019794&hvtargid=pla-384324752796&th=1s

I've got an old cheapo that is in good shape I'd ship to you if you want to give it a shot. PM me if you want.
