Well after getting my passenger window smashed :( I learned a thing or two about security and glass. The main thing I wanted to share with the world is that there is in fact a difference between OEM glass windows and aftermarket glass. A video on youtube show the wavy appearance after market glass has.

Sure enough I noticed the exact same thing on a replaced front passenger window, fortunately my local glass shop has agreed to replace with OEM and only charge me the difference.

If my truck (2015) was 10 years old I'd probably just keep the aftermarket glass but I'm only paying less then $100 more for OEM.

Aftermarket may be just fine but don't believe anyone who tell you aftermarket glass "is the same thing with out the Toyota logo."

100% agree, the cheaper aftermarket are truly cheap quality.

I've noticed that before in other cars, but never knew what it was until now. I thought it had to do with my polarized sunglasses.

FWIW / YMMV: ~13 years ago I turned in a leased Z4. Inspection was done by a BWM contractor who came to my work a few days ahead of the drop off. He checked only a few things but was VERY thorough with those items (Tires, wheels, keys, lights, interior) and the glass... he was nice, we chatted, he said if any glass was not BMW it would be have to be changed (At my expense)

Always OEM. Aftermarket equals mexico or china garbage.
