Interesting.. would you mind sending us some photos? We've sent out a bunch of these (and installed a couple) and haven't seen this issue before. Would love to take a look and see if we're able to figure anything out. info@sherpaequipmentco.com

Why buy that when the outdoors are free and the view is better?

I know you were talking about peeing, but... we actually have one of those that we set up outside. There are lots of places in the desert where digging a cat hole is not appropriate.

Yeah, while I am impressed those that do use one in their truck get it in there, I just don't think I would like a toilet in the small camper space we are dealing with. Ha Ha. That being said, I just always have to make sure my wife doesn't set up our foldable toilet, b/c the last time I found it about 6 feet from the fire & was like, COME ON!! .. ha ha ha

Exactly how I feel. A toilet is 1000% unnecessary for me. I have a tiny folding shovel and the big wide world. My ass does not need a seat and I have zero desire to cart one around.

Im still not sure what having a toilet has anything to do with figuring out how to lock the camper from the inside, but here we are.

Here are two photos of the low-tech yet effective locking method I use. Again, not my idea, but can't remember who on here came up with it.

I belive that is about as simple as you can get, looks like a piece of 3/4 electrical conduit is the answer.

Speaking of toilets, there’s something glorious about dropping a morning deuce in your warm camper with the heater at your legs while its cold AF outside

Lots of great build info in this thread. Thanks to everyone who's contributed! I am taking notes....

Gathering info right now for my own build.

For anyone who has ordered from 8020 or Tnutz recently, what was the delivery timeline like?

Glorious for you, maybe. Probably less so for the wife and little one... :bananadead::D

Maybe more of a logic leap than I thought so let me spell it out... If you had a toilet INSIDE, you wouldn't have to fuss with trying to unlock the camper to go OUTSIDE to pee and freeze your rear off at the same time. Plus for the men, no mud splatter or shrinkage, but if you're the pray and spray type, you might want to sit.

The PETT is lightweight and compact... folds up into a case so there is no lugging. You're probably thinking of the luggable loo-has lug in the name. The WAG bags have a gelling agent that solidifies your pee and removes the pee smell. With urine they are multi use and will hold mine and my wife's nightly urine load for the evening and overnight. Then you just zip the Wag closed and throw them in the trash the next time you are by a receptacle. Poop is a go and zip it... one time use. They are used by the military and FEMA. My ass could do without a seat but if I want my wife with me, the seat is a must have item.

Caught up on this thread while sitting on the toilet. I'm on team squat

I slide a piece of PVC over my rear window latch to lock it from the inside. Same idea as the picture above! @cwhet10

I'm on the shovel and dig side... the Drifter is small enough, no need to carry a toilet for me. That said, I have noticed a HUGE increase in really terrible latrine skills at campsites all over the west in the last few years. Lazy people are the bane of society.

PSA from me: People, WALK a good ways from the campsite. Dig a nice, deep hole. Either burn, pack out, or "stir in" your TP with a stick (yeah gross, but effective). Cover the buried site with nice big rock or log so animals can't dig it up as easily.

I am sick of disgusting TP "flowers" all over the sidecountry and backcountry, mountain and desert alike. If you can't handle backcountry sanitation, perhaps developed campgrounds are more your style.

Rant over. Now back to Drifter buildouts and mods.

Tnutz is pretty quick, I've placed several orders over the past month and it's usually about a week to process a custom order (cut to length, etc.) and then a few days for shipping depending on where you are in the country.

Good point. People are as bad with fire as they are with poop. Jesus H. Christ, I miss the days when people wanted to sit inside and watch television, so I could go off and be alone in the woods and not bump into a yahoo every 30 seconds. :annoyed:
