First, thanks to all that responded to my first post:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/a-jeep-guy-gets-a-tacoma-please-help.711962/

After reviewing the above information, now comes the hard part.
Remembering this truck is to do a bunch of DD work, kayak trips, mnt bike trips, etc.
The Jeep was supposed to be doing a good bit of DD work, but at 800 miles, things got crazy. In a blink of an eye we are lifting the Jeep, putting on 37 bead locks, long arm conversion, bell skids, hydr bump stops, winch, bumpers, etc...

    Mods to Jeep M.jpg
Info on the Jeep JLR build can be found at

    https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/manual-2-door-rubicon-bikini-build.48532/

    Now comes the hard part.
Modifying the Tacoma without winding up with a 3+ inch lift and running 35s or larger. :D
Need to keep reminding myself, this is a DD.
Picture of the Tacoma's first day of DD responsibilities:

    Tacoma Power.jpg

Tacoma Power and Electrical Power... Endless possibilities.

    The starting point:

2021 Tacoma TRD Offroad with LEDs and technology package (wife likes me to have all those fancy safety features) with leather seats, etc. A bit too much fancy stuff for me, but it makes her happy.

Based on the recommendation from others, here's a partial list:

    Bed of the Truck:
Has factory bed liner, but will install a bed mat (Factory one?) and more hooks to secure cargo
Also, tailgate cover to haul mnt bikes.

    Interior:
    LED interior lights
    TRD Pro shift knob (done)
    Maybe a shift lever extension?
Has power seats, may just lift up the rear of the passenger side seat

    Stereo:
The factory speakers are pure junk.
    Keeping the factory head unit.
New speakers all around and maybe an amp. Recommendations?

    Lift:
Mild lift. Don't like spacer lifts, so maybe a Camburg kit?

    Wheels/Tires:
Wheels: Dirty Life wheels with Faux bead locks (can be true bead locks later)
    Tires: Maybe 32's? Brand?

    Exterior:
    Clear Bra - Done.
Get rid of the chrome "TACOMA" on the doors. No replacement (like the clean look).

    Engine/Tranny/Gears
Is there an oil catch can for the breather? If so, good option?
Since its a manual, no real need tuning IMHO.
Keeping the stock intake system. Will not install those K&N POS filters (flame away).
There's a clutch mod, but for now I'm OK with the clutch pedal.

I am sure more things will come to mind.
    Suggestions are welcomed. TIA.

For DD, kayak and mtb trips why not keep it stock? The truck is already very capable, surely enough to get to any sort of kayak launch or trailhead.

There is something about me that cannot leave a car/truck stock.
This wrenching thing is an addiction.
Usually go crazy with mods, like the car build a few years back to go on the track using a bunch of parts from a junk yard.
Wound up with this when all the dust settled in the garage and the wrenches were put down.

The mild lift is basically to give the truck a more aggressive look.
However, some of the kayak put-ins and take-outs can be somewhat challenging fire roads due to the rains.
So maybe better tires and a lift will be needed (or that's my overstated justification).

Mild lift: Dobinsons, Bilstein 5100 or 6112 are great options. Keep it to 1.75-2” of lift.

Bigger tires, 255/85/16 is about the max without cutting and welding.

    Don’t forget sliders.

This whole website is a rabbit hole. There are threads for almost everything.

    Stereo: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/premium-audio-upgrade-for-less-than-250.510424/

    Suspension: What’s your budget?

Tires: KBro2s, Falken Wildpeaks, Cooper AT3s, Cooper STT, Toyo AT3, Yokohama Geolander G003 Kenda Klever RT just to name a few I often see.

Gears: Tons of people regearing 3rd Gens. 4.88 with 33s and add ons. 5.29s would be overkill for a DD but who knows, you might fall for doing more than intended like a lot of us do. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-4-88-mega-thread.511967/

I can relate...I can't leave anything alone. I've even debated on the best mods for my partner's Kia Nero plug in hybrid.:headbang:

But the real question is, will he blame the truck? TOYOTA? Or someone else when the issues start

    I'm in lol!

So basically you like to keep things mostly stock. Probably your best option.

The red 914 with the kayak is my 914 track car before things started to get a little crazy.
At that time, the 914 had a either a 3.0 or 3.2 911 motor and the five lug conversion.
