This was at the beginning of Panther creek road on our little trip up Buckhorn Mountain outside of Merlin Oregon yesterday.

    20210327_152201.jpg

I went back later to snap some pics.

That damn gas can is gonna tempt some asshole to light that gutted trailer on fire!
The last thing we need around here is another wildfire.
I am going back to pick up the gas can today, and will contact a metal salvage place in Grant's Pass to see about getting the heap of a trailer removed. I will gladly haul all of the other Garbage to the dump.

9 out of 10 this is caused by damned tweekers.:infantry:

What the actual hell? Was there gas in the can?

How long has that 5th Wheel been there? So many questions.

I'd suggest to leave it alone.

Call the LEO of the area.

That was likely a Meth lab. There could be some really nasty stuff mixed in the "garbage".

Could be. Guess I better. Hate to get the authorities involved for fear of losing access to my favorite trail, but I guess I wouldn't be able to enjoy it if I was dead from friggin tweeker poison either.

If they close the access, it will only be closed until the investigation is complete. Then they will clean up the site.

We had a camper stolen while living in SC. LEO said it was probably up in the mountains being used as a Meth lab. He said it is very common.

Don't know how long it has been there. There were some people living in a trailer there last year, could be the same trailer.

I usually access this trail from another, private entrance, so don't get to this mundane spot very often.

There was SOMETHING in the gas can, but I didn't check it.

Will report this to Law Enforcement today.

Just because its a gas can......doesn't mean there is gasoline in it.

    Think about it.

Yeah leave it alone. Area looks well used. Almost like can was left behind by dirt bikers.

Either way not worth anything but curiosity.

    It needs to be GONE.

    Police report filed.

Also called the Sheriff's Ofice and requested to be notified if volunteer cleanup will be accepted.

Good man. You've done all you need to at this point.:thumbsup:

If it turns out to be a meth lab, then the LEO will have a HazMat team handle the clean up. The chemicals used in the production are very hazardous and the waste is toxic.

Maybe they will get lucky to discover a lead.

Let's hope they find some identifying information. Whether it's a meth lab or not, scum that do this need to be punished.

Filing a report is the best way. Once they do their thing, they will use a contracted company to go get it. Calling a recycler/tow yard won't get it done as you don't have a title (recycler) and the cost to recover/transport/file for lien/store/salvage would far outweigh any value of it and tow company would say not interested.

    I just want it GONE.

    I did file a report.

Hopefully they get on it this week. If it is still there next weekend I will make some more noise to the "Authorities"

I mean, I'm not saying it *wasn't* a meth lab at some point, but this thing just got dumped here. With the garbage bags inside, I bet you some toothless dickweazzle just dumped their POS their rather than disposing of it properly.

I think the dangers of messing with it aren't because tweekers will return and jump you, but because that thing 100% has all manners diseases floating around in it.

I ran into the BLM guy in charge of this area last Friday and spoke to him about it.

I told him I had filed a police report about it and that I would be willing to clean up the mess once they haul the trailer off and deem it safe for a civilian to clean up the garbage.

He told me how he has guys lay down a big piece of visqueen plastic, rake the garbage on to it, wrap the corners to the middle and secure it with Gorilla tape for transport to the dump. That way they dont have to touch the garbage and risk a needle poke or other hazards.

He got my address and said that if a big roll of plastic mysteriously appears at my house I am good to go cleaning up that mess.
