can you program a g chip key using in car programming mode or do you need dealer

I have seen on YouTube videos inserting key five times and open close door six times put vehicle in programming mode but won’t work for me...

    You don’t “need” the dealer.
But you will “need” some form of software to program the key to the ECM.

You can’t do it like you can the “Dot” keys. There is no way to program it with out access to software and going through the OBD Port.

BTW, I have never used any of the products in the link. Research before you buy from sketchy 3rd part knock-off online dealer.

I used this link to program a new fob. I bought the obd2 with pirated techstream for programming new key. The install wouldn't work for me and many others. I ended up going to a local thread on here and asked if anyone had techstream. Found someone pretty close and they programmed key for a 6 pack. Dealer wanted $150 or something crazy.
